San Francisco Chronicle Introduces New Business Report, Featuring Content From Bloomberg News

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/24/10 -- The San Francisco Chronicle announced today that it will offer an expanded and enhanced daily business section with the BLOOMBERG NEWS® service, launching Sunday, March 28.

The new section, named Business Report, will be comprised of regional stories and data produced by the business staffs of The Chronicle and Bloomberg. The collaboration will include content sharing on SFGate.com and the BLOOMBERG.COM® Web sites.

"By working with Bloomberg, the world's largest and most trusted information sources for business news and reporting, we intend The Chronicle's daily business section to be an essential read for business, financial and technology coverage of Silicon Valley and the Bay Area," said Frank Vega, Chronicle Chairman and Publisher.

"Readers throughout the Bay Area can only benefit and profit from the combination of The Chronicle's exceptional news judgment and the global reporting perspective Bloomberg brings to each and every story," said Matthew Winkler, editor-in-chief of Bloomberg News.

Business Report will provide expanded coverage of Silicon Valley technology companies and sectors, as well as regional real estate, jobs, personal finance and stock performance. Pages will be added to The Chronicle business section for the expanded report in daily and Sunday editions. The section will feature The Bloomberg Market Report -- an exclusive and unique data listings on economic trends for the Bay Area, nation and world. Content will also appear on SFGate.com in the Business Report section.

Bloomberg's 50-person San Francisco news bureau will coordinate daily with The Chronicle's news staff to produce a complete and compelling report for the daily business section.

"This new section takes advantage of the strengths of both Bloomberg and The Chronicle business staffs to create a one-of-a-kind newspaper business section," said Ward Bushee, Chronicle editor.

Known for its accuracy and immediacy in reporting, Bloomberg ranks as the definitive source for the business community. Its concise, jargon-free reporting makes even the most complex issues easy to understand for all readers, not just investment professionals.

In addition to content provided by Bloomberg, the Business Report will continue to feature Chronicle columnists whom local readers trust for analysis and advice into what's going on in Bay Area business. Kathleen Pender's Net Worth column will continue to provide insight into personal finance decisions, while Andrew S. Ross and The Bottom Line provide an insider's look at the local business community.

Companies of all sizes and industries have realized the massive benefits of containers, such as unprecedented mobility, higher hardware utilization, and increased flexibility and agility; however, many containers today are non-persistent. DevOps is often described as a combination of technology and culture. Without both, DevOps isn't complete. However, applying the culture to outdated technology is a recipe for disaster; as response times grow and connections between teams are delayed by technology, the culture will die. A Nutanix Enterprise Cloud has many benefits that provide the needed base for a true DevOps paradigm.
Back in February of 2017, Andrew Clay Schafer of Pivotal tweeted the following: “seriously tho, the whole software industry is stuck on deployment when we desperately need architecture and telemetry.” Intrigue in a 140 characters. For me, I hear Andrew saying, “we’re jumping to step 5 before we’ve successfully completed steps 1-4.”
All organizations that did not originate this moment have a pre-existing culture as well as legacy technology and processes that can be more or less amenable to DevOps implementation. That organizational culture is influenced by the personalities and management styles of Executive Management, the wider culture in which the organization is situated, and the personalities of key team members at all levels of the organization. This culture and entrenched interests usually throw a wrench in the work...
