SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/18/11 -- Tagged, the leading social network for meeting new people, today announced it has formed an innovative in-house game studio. In tandem, Tagged also announced that Andrew Pedersen, formerly Vice President & General Manager for Electronic Arts' Pogo division, has joined the company as Vice President & General Manager, Social Games. With Pedersen at the helm, Tagged's Game Studio will develop future game titles in-house and focus on new titles that both entertain as well as encourage players to expand their social network and meet new people.
Tagged has already created five exclusive, popular social game titles that entertain, engage and initiate millions of new social connections daily, including its blockbuster Pets. A respected visionary with 20 years experience in the design and development of online entertainment and software properties, Andrew Pedersen knows casual games and the casual gaming audience. Most recently SVP of Creative for BlueNoodle, Pedersen was previously the creative and design lead as Vice President and General Manager for EA's Pogo. While there he developed more than 100 games for the platform and introduced the Club Pogo subscription service, Pogo Badges and Pogo Minis (avatar system) to deepen player engagement and increase monetization. Andrew's experience also includes Executive Producer with Mattel, The Learning Company, Berkeley Systems and Broderbund Software where he was a responsible for well-known franchises such as Prince of Persia, Carmen Sandiego and After Dark.
