SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/18/11 -- Tagged, the leading social network for meeting new people, today announced it has formed an innovative in-house game studio. In tandem, Tagged also announced that Andrew Pedersen, formerly Vice President & General Manager for Electronic Arts' Pogo division, has joined the company as Vice President & General Manager, Social Games. With Pedersen at the helm, Tagged's Game Studio will develop future game titles in-house and focus on new titles that both entertain as well as encourage players to expand their social network and meet new people.
Tagged has already created five exclusive, popular social game titles that entertain, engage and initiate millions of new social connections daily, including its blockbuster Pets. Over five million unique trade interactions are made just on Pets each day and over 100 million new friend connections are made across Tagged each month. For 2011, the Studio currently has three original titles in development and plans to double its game design team in the coming months.
"Gaming is an important part of our social discovery platform and generates millions of new connections between Tagged users every day," offered Tagged's CEO Greg Tseng. "Creating the Tagged Game Studio to develop our future titles was the next logical step in reinforcing Tagged's position as the best place to meet people online. We wanted the best in the social gaming field to lead our efforts, and in Andrew Pedersen we got what we wanted. Under Andrew's guidance our Studio is primed to deliver unique titles that don't just entertain an audience, but also inspire players to build new connections. It's an exciting move for us, and for social gaming in general."
A respected visionary with 20 years experience in the design and development of online entertainment and software properties, Andrew Pedersen knows casual games and the casual gaming audience. Most recently SVP of Creative for BlueNoodle, Pedersen was previously the creative and design lead as Vice President and General Manager for EA's Pogo. While there he developed more than 100 games for the platform and introduced the Club Pogo subscription service, Pogo Badges and Pogo Minis (avatar system) to deepen player engagement and increase monetization. Andrew's experience also includes Executive Producer with Mattel, The Learning Company, Berkeley Systems and Broderbund Software where he was a responsible for well-known franchises such as Prince of Persia, Carmen Sandiego and After Dark.
"While it seems various social networks have recast themselves recently to attempt to be gaming hubs, Tagged has always seen social gaming as a way to double-down on their success as the social discovery leader. Engaging games are the ultimate catalyst when it comes to social discovery," said Andrew Pedersen, Tagged Vice President & General Manager, Social Games. "Helping to form the Tagged Game Studio is unlike any other opportunity out there and I am extremely excited by our future."
Tagged is the leading social network for meeting new people. While other offerings focus on existing relationships, Tagged has established the category of social discovery. With over 100 million members in 220 countries Tagged enables anyone to meet and socialize with new people through social games, customized profiles, virtual gifts, advanced browsing features and more. Tagged is based in San Francisco. More information is available at http://about-tagged.com/.

In addition to all the benefits, IoT is also bringing new kind of customer experience challenges - cars that unlock themselves, thermostats turning houses into saunas and baby video monitors broadcasting over the internet. This list can only increase because while IoT services should be intuitive and simple to use, the delivery ecosystem is a myriad of potential problems as IoT explodes complexity. So finding a performance issue is like finding the proverbial needle in the haystack.

Between 2005 and 2020, data volumes will grow by a factor of 300 – enough data to stack CDs from the earth to the moon 162 times. This has come to be known as the ‘big data’ phenomenon. Unfortunately, traditional approaches to handling, storing and analyzing data aren’t adequate at this scale: they’re too costly, slow and physically cumbersome to keep up. Fortunately, in response a new breed of technology has emerged that is cheaper, faster and more scalable. Yet, in meeting these new needs they...

The Internet of Things (IoT) promises to simplify and streamline our lives by automating routine tasks that distract us from our goals. This promise is based on the ubiquitous deployment of smart, connected devices that link everything from industrial control systems to automobiles to refrigerators. Unfortunately, comparatively few of the devices currently deployed have been developed with an eye toward security, and as the DDoS attacks of late October 2016 have demonstrated, this oversight can ...
