Today HootSuite announces a new integration with WebtrendsAnalytics, widening the scope of measurement tools available to HootSuiteEnterprise clients. The HootSuite-Webtrends integration provides the performance data organizations need to properly evaluate the return of investment of their social activities. The auto-generated reports can be customized to show connections between social media messages and website conversion statistics, providing the level of measurement consistent with SEM and display ad markets for accurate comparison across channels. The integrated HootSuite-Webtrends capabilities are now available free to HootSuite Enterprise and Webtrends Analytics On-Demand clients.
HootSuite Enterprise clients with Webtrends Analytics On-Demand can now access closed loop reporting for social and answer questions such as:
-- Messages: Which message types result in the highest number of conversions? What are the best practices for increasing specific on-site actions? Which words drive the most conversions? -- Social accounts: Which Twitter account or Facebook Page is the source of the most valuable traffic? Is there a business case to invest more resources in organic online engagement? Should more or less social accounts be managed? -- Social networks: Which platform is providing the greatest return on the brand page: Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Twitter? Where is engagement strong, and where is it weak? -- Time of day: Which time of day is most effective to drive high-quality traffic to the website? When is the target audience on social and looking to buy?
Businesses, departments and teams will be able to act upon the data provided from this integration in a timely fashion, modifying their social tactics to drive higher conversions online. The automated reporting significantly reduces time spent compiling data and presents it in readily understood and relevant terms that stakeholders need to see. This granular level of insight shows how effective social media engagement tactics are in bringing about website conversions, and ultimately the impact it has on an organization's bottom line.
"Every organization must continually evaluate and optimize the social media ROI of each department's publishing and engagement efforts. For that you need measurement-driven management, and the HootSuite-Webtrends integration helps satisfy that need," says RyanHolmes, CEO HootSuite. "This partnership is another example of HootSuite's commitment to our clients' success, and to providing the market-leading functionality that our Enterprise clients expect."
"At Webtrends, we believe that analytics drive insight and insight drives more effective digital marketing," said AlexYoder, CEO, Webtrends. "Our new partnership with HootSuite will provide marketers with unprecedented insights into social media engagement and effectiveness leading to valuable, quantifiable, and repeatable social media marketing optimization for organizations of all types."
HootSuite and Webtrends will host a webinar on how enterprises can grow and realize value from their social media investments on October 16th, 2012 at 2PM EDT (11AM PDT) entitled ScalingSocial - ActionableDataforEveryDepartment.

The most often asked question post-DevOps introduction is: “How do I get started?” There’s plenty of information on why DevOps is valid and important, but many managers still struggle with simple basics for how to initiate a DevOps program in their business. They struggle with issues related to current organizational inertia, the lack of experience on Continuous Integration/Delivery, understanding where DevOps will affect revenue and budget, etc. In their session at DevOps Summit, JP Morgenthal...

Agile, which started in the development organization, has gradually expanded into other areas downstream - namely IT and Operations. Teams – then teams of teams – have streamlined processes, improved feedback loops and driven a much faster pace into IT departments which have had profound effects on the entire organization. In his session at DevOps Summit, Anders Wallgren, Chief Technology Officer of Electric Cloud, will discuss how DevOps and Continuous Delivery have emerged to help connect dev...

Malicious agents are moving faster than the speed of business. Even more worrisome, most companies are relying on legacy approaches to security that are no longer capable of meeting current threats. In the modern cloud, threat diversity is rapidly expanding, necessitating more sophisticated security protocols than those used in the past or in desktop environments. Yet companies are falling for cloud security myths that were truths at one time but have evolved out of existence.

Overgrown applications have given way to modular applications, driven by the need to break larger problems into smaller problems. Similarly large monolithic development processes have been forced to be broken into smaller agile development cycles. Looking at trends in software development, microservices architectures meet the same demands. Additional benefits of microservices architectures are compartmentalization and a limited impact of service failure versus a complete software malfunction. ...

In the midst of the widespread popularity and adoption of cloud computing, it seems like everything is being offered “as a Service” these days: Infrastructure? Check. Platform? You bet. Software? Absolutely. Toaster? It’s only a matter of time. With service providers positioning vastly differing offerings under a generic “cloud” umbrella, it’s all too easy to get confused about what’s actually being offered. In his session at 16th Cloud Expo, Kevin Hazard, Director of Digital Content for SoftL...

The cloud has transformed how we think about software quality. Instead of preventing failures, we must focus on automatic recovery from failure. In other words, resilience trumps traditional quality measures. Continuous delivery models further squeeze traditional notions of quality. Remember the venerable project management Iron Triangle? Among time, scope, and cost, you can only fix two or quality will suffer. Only in today's DevOps world, continuous testing, integration, and deployment upend...
