Caroline Steffen Slated to Lead the Pack

CARLSBAD, CA -- October 3, 2012 -- teamTBB heads to Kona after a dominating 2012 season. With numerous wins under its belt, teamTBB is eager to add the 2012 IRONMAN® World Championship to its roster, taking place in Hawaii next Saturday, October 13.

Leading the charge is Caroline Steffen, also known as Xena, who rates as one of the hottest contenders for this year's women's crown. Winning two 4000-point IRONMAN® races and an International Triathlon Union world title, Xena is hungry to add Kona to her 2012 collection, and improve on her fifth placing in last year's World Championship.

"I'll be at the starting line knowing I've prepared for this race to the best of my ability," said Steffen. "I'll get the best out of myself too. I'm grateful to have sponsors like 2XU with me every step of the way. I can't wait to compete in my custom 2XU teamTBB Xena race kit!"

Two other similarly dynamic teamTBB athletes will also line up in Kona: IRONMAN® U.S. Women's Champion Mary Beth Ellis and first time World Championship competitor Dave Dellow.

"After a tough experience in Kona last year, I'm amped for another shot," said Ellis.

"This has been my most successful season since I started triathlon. I'm confident in my talents, eager to see the finish line and run across it knowing I've left every ounce of energy, will and determination on the course."

Dave Dellow is waiting on race day with equal excitement making his Hawaii debut.

"It will be my first Kona visit. I'm stoked, but it will be tough, and everyone competing is reaching for the same goal. It won't be easy, but I'm feeling good," said Dellow.

The 2012 World Championship field will be stacked, but geared up in their industry-leading 2XU apparel, teamTBB athletes are sure to leave fierce competition in their wake.

On October 11 from 12:00 - 12:45 PM (HST) during the Ironman Expo, each athlete will appear at the 2XU booth for signings.

Today we can collect lots and lots of performance data. We build beautiful dashboards and even have fancy query languages to access and transform the data. Still performance data is a secret language only a couple of people understand. The more business becomes digital the more stakeholders are interested in this data including how it relates to business. Some of these people have never used a monitoring tool before. They have a question on their mind like “How is my application doing” but no id...

DevOps is being widely accepted (if not fully adopted) as essential in enterprise IT. But as Enterprise DevOps gains maturity, expands scope, and increases velocity, the need for data-driven decisions across teams becomes more acute. DevOps teams in any modern business must wrangle the ‘digital exhaust’ from the delivery toolchain, "pervasive" and "cognitive" computing, APIs and services, mobile devices and applications, the Internet of Things, and now even blockchain. In his session at 19th Cloud Expo, Claude Remillard, Principal Program Manager in Developer Division at Microsoft, contrasted how his team used config as code and immutable patterns for continuous delivery of microservices and apps to the cloud. In IT, we sometimes coin terms for things before we know exactly what they are and how they’ll be used. The resulting terms may capture a common set of aspirations and goals – as “cloud” did broadly for on-demand, self-service, and flexible computing. But such a term can also lump together diverse and even competing practices, technologies, and priorities to the point where important distinctions are glossed over and lost.
As data explodes in quantity, importance and from new sources, the need for managing and protecting data residing across physical, virtual, and cloud environments grow with it. Managing data includes protecting it, indexing and classifying it for true, long-term management, compliance and E-Discovery.
