Need for Better Collaboration in Business Propels Managed Visual Services Market in Asia Pacific, Finds Frost & Sullivan

Interoperability of solutions through standardization and network interconnectivity is vital

SINGAPORE, Oct. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The managed visual services market in Asia Pacific is expected to grow rapidly due to the growing business need for alternate means of communication with clients, partners, and coworkers. Enterprises are looking for ways to increase productivity and efficiency while containing costs and minimizing capital expenditures in technology, driving the need for effective visual collaboration services.

Managed visual collaboration helps enterprises do away with the heavy capital investment in purchasing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and software. More importantly, it provides opportunities for increased communication among employees, better utilization of time, and faster decision making.

Nevertheless, cultural and behavioral factors, whether corporate or social, can hinder the adoption of visual collaboration as a core tool. Difficulties in building trust over distances, preference for face-to-face meetings, or a general lack of willingness to use visual collaboration tools prevent these services from being widely used.

The availability of cheaper alternatives and the lack of a single solution that allows interoperability of different systems and end points also impede growth. Hence, standardization and interconnectivity of networks is necessary to accelerate adoption.

"In regions where cultural factors pose a challenge, uptake will remain slow," noted Partha. "However, the instant return of investment owing to reduction in travelling costs, hotel bills and gas fares will encourage companies to be more open to such solutions."

Cost savings and operational efficiencies will eventually take precedence, and more organizations will look to managed visual services to meet their collaboration needs.
