PALO ALTO, Calif., Nov. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Autonomy, an HP Company, today announced that Textkernel, an innovative provider of multilingual semantic recruitment technology, will embed Autonomy IDOL (Intelligent Data Operating Layer) technology in the new version of its resume parsing solution Extract!.
Extract! helps companies streamline recruitment processes by automatically parsing the information contained in a resume or social media profile, and building out a single, complete candidate profile. Because the content, layout, and formatting of resumes vary significantly in every case, automating this extraction process requires technology which can process information in any format.
Textkernel chose Autonomy's IDOL technology to power its document extraction process, allowing Extract! to capture all required information from a resume regardless of its format or file type. This removes the need for labor-intensive manual processes, and provides consistency and detail from a highly personalized and varied source material.
"We tested the four leading solutions for our document conversion process and found Autonomy IDOL to have the highest level of document conversion accuracy," said Jakub Zavrel, chief executive officer, Textkernel. "By moving from an open source solution to the well-engineered IDOL solution, we can provide our customers with new functionality and a higher success rate in processing a variety of document formats and resume layouts."
"Textkernel needs to be able to provide its customers with a very high level of accuracy and consistency, without compromising on speed." said Nigel Hutchinson, senior vice president, Power Solutions, Autonomy, an HP Company. "By embedding Autonomy IDOL, Textkernel will ensure that Extract! can effortlessly handle these requirements."

Too often with compelling new technologies market participants become overly enamored with that attractiveness of the technology and neglect underlying business drivers. This tendency, what some call the “newest shiny object syndrome” is understandable given that virtually all of us are heavily engaged in technology. But it is also mistaken. Without concrete business cases driving its deployment, IoT, like many other technologies before it, will fade into obscurity.
