Sweet Green Fields Adds High Purity Stevia With Great Taste to Award-Winning Tea of a Kind

LAS VEGAS, NV -- (Marketwire) -- 11/12/12 -- Tea of a Kind (powered by Gizmo), the first beverage to utilize the patented "Gizmo Closure and Delivery System," won the Best Ready - to - Drink Tea or Coffee title at the October 2012 InterBev Awards, held during a special gala dinner at the Encore at Wynn in Las Vegas.

Tea of a Kind began working with Sweet Green Fields, a leading U.S. based global producer of high purity stevia extracts, more than a year ago with the objective of creating an all-natural low calorie and truly delicious tea. Sweet Green Fields accepted the challenge and according to Walter Apodaca, President of Gizmo Beverages, Tea of a Kind's parent company -- "they delivered!"

"We analyzed many stevia companies and found Sweet Green Fields was superior in taste, supply chain traceability, more affordably priced, science-based and we appreciated their technical support to assist in our flavor and sweetness formulation efforts," said Apodaca. "At Gizmo Beverages, we introduced a revolutionary pressurized closure, built a company and launched a ready-to-drink tea in a very short time, so it is an immense honor to be recognized by peers and analysts who know this space."

"It is terrific to see the recognition of the collective science and innovation efforts that came together with Gizmo Beverages' forward-thinking innovation and demand for quality," said Mike Quin, Senior Vice President of Sales for Sweet Green Fields. "Tea of a Kind is a great tasting product and the unique delivery system has the potential to appeal to many different beverage applications."

Tea of a Kind uses a high purity stevia extract from Sweet Green Fields -- providing a quality and cost effective sweetener solution, low glycemic index, heat and pH stable, naturally processed, Kosher and Halal certified and JECFA approved.

"Creating the right calorie choice for consumers is what we do best and we have been working with our customers to develop this important beverage category," shared Alex Woo, Vice President of Innovation and Application Development for Sweet Green Fields. "Our sweetness matrix allows us the flexibility to meet our customers' objectives by providing the right amount of reduced calories to full sugared products while still maintaining a flavorful taste."

Gizmo Beverages was looking to introduce a paradigm shift in the tea category. The patented "Gizmo Closure and Delivery System" is an innovative, nitrogen pressurized bottle cap design that infuses a drink with fresh, preservative-free ingredients upon opening. The cap protects against UV light, oxidation and other damaging conditions that degrade nutrients in most pre-mixed beverages. Once the cap is twisted, the ingredients burst into the bottle at 90 psi and self-mix, creating a color change and a visual confirmation that the drink is fresh and ready to consume.

Available in Peach Ginger Black Tea, Citrus Mint Green Tea, and Pomegranate Acai White Tea, Tea of a Kind is 100-percent natural, contains only 20 calories per 16 ounce bottle. When growing capacity and power in the data center, the architectural trade-offs between server scale-up vs. scale-out continue to be debated. Both approaches are valid: scale-out adds multiple, smaller servers running in a distributed computing model, while scale-up adds fewer, more powerful servers that are capable of running larger workloads. It’s worth noting that there are additional, unique advantages that scale-up architectures offer. One big advantage is large memory and compute capacity...
It is ironic, but perhaps not unexpected, that many organizations who want the benefits of using an Agile approach to deliver software use a waterfall approach to adopting Agile practices: they form plans, they set milestones, and they measure progress by how many teams they have engaged. Old habits die hard, but like most waterfall software projects, most waterfall-style Agile adoption efforts fail to produce the results desired. The problem is that to get the results they want, they have to ch...
