NEW YORK, Nov. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Celebrity-adored and editor-coveted accessory brand Kooba has signed a footwear licensing agreement with Antebi Footwear Group (AFG) to launch a signature shoe collection in Fall 2013. The new collection will embrace the Kooba woman, featuring signature styles, attention to detail and distinctive textures that will enable her to express her personal style through contemporary footwear that's as comfort-driven as it is stylish.
AFG's addition of Kooba to its established brand portfolio, which includes David Tutera Shoe Collection and 2012 LIMA Award nominee Paris Hilton Footwear, further positions Antebi Footwear for growth and leadership in the industry. Joe Antebi, CEO of Antebi Footwear Group shares, "We've been incredibly strategic in our expansion, looking for the right brands to complement our existing portfolio and drive new opportunities." He continues, "Kooba is an iconic leader in the contemporary accessory realm that perfectly fits our objectives. We could not be more thrilled to align with them in footwear category."
"Since we acquired Kooba two years ago, our fan base has expressed a lot of interest for the brand to branch into footwear," said Abe Chehebar, CEO and president of AHG. "We have been looking for a great strategic partner to maintain that momentum and help Kooba expand in the category – Antebi was the logical choice to achieve this goal."
Designed for today's contemporary woman, Kooba Footwear will complement her individual style while making a statement. The collection will be produced with luxurious Italian hardware, signature draping and clean, modern lines. The line will retail between $195 - $550 and is expected to be available in the same retail channels as Kooba's core collection, including Nordstrom, Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus, as well as online and in select North American boutiques in Fall 2013.
Started in 1997, Kooba's collection of handbags and accessories is characterized by its unique styling, distinguished textures and great attention to detail. Kooba products are sought after by fashion-forward customers for their modern approach, relaxed attitude and timeless design sensibility. The brand has developed a following among luxury shoppers, celebrities, editors, stylists and trendsetters. Today Kooba is sold in top retailers including Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales and Nordstrom throughout the U.S.

More and more brands have jumped on the IoT bandwagon. We have an excess of wearables – activity trackers, smartwatches, smart glasses and sneakers, and more that track seemingly endless datapoints. However, most consumers have no idea what “IoT” means. Creating more wearables that track data shouldn't be the aim of brands; delivering meaningful, tangible relevance to their users should be. We're in a period in which the IoT pendulum is still swinging. Initially, it swung toward "smart for smart...

Complete Internet of Things (IoT) embedded device security is not just about the device but involves the entire product’s identity, data and control integrity, and services traversing the cloud. A device can no longer be looked at as an island; it is a part of a system. In fact, given the cross-domain interactions enabled by IoT it could be a part of many systems. Also, depending on where the device is deployed, for example, in the office building versus a factory floor or oil field, security ha...

In IT, we sometimes coin terms for things before we know exactly what they are and how they’ll be used. The resulting terms may capture a common set of aspirations and goals – as “cloud” did broadly for on-demand, self-service, and flexible computing. But such a term can also lump together diverse and even competing practices, technologies, and priorities to the point where important distinctions are glossed over and lost.

When it comes to cloud computing, the ability to turn massive amounts of compute cores on and off on demand sounds attractive to IT staff, who need to manage peaks and valleys in user activity. With cloud bursting, the majority of the data can stay on premises while tapping into compute from public cloud providers, reducing risk and minimizing need to move large files. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Scott Jeschonek, Director of Product Management at Avere Systems, discussed the IT and busin...
