Akridge Inks Largest Lease In NoMa This Year With NeighborWorks America

National Housing Non-Profit Plans Move to NoMa's 999 North Capitol Street

WASHINGTON, Dec. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Akridge, is pleased to announce a lease agreement with housing and community development non-profit NeighborWorks America at Union Square in 999 North Capitol Street, NE, in the NoMa submarket.

It is the largest private-sector lease signed in the NoMa submarket this year. The national organization will relocate its headquarters office from 1325 G Street, NW in Washington's East End neighborhood to NoMa. Taking 64,669 square feet, the organization will occupy the entire top (ninth) floor and a portion of the eighth floor in the northern-most building of the Union Square complex. The 10-year lease will commence on June 1, 2013.

The Union Square office complex is located in the heart of Washington's NoMa neighborhood. The two freestanding buildings each represent approximately 300,000 square feet of rentable space and feature floor-to-ceiling glass on all sides. Recent building renovations include newly designed and modernized entryways, lobbies, elevators and restrooms, as well as enhanced security features and a full-service fitness center. Plans for an on-site cafe and fully renovated plaza are currently underway.
