STATS ChipPAC Provides Update for Fourth Quarter 2012

SINGAPORE 3 JANUARY 2013, UNITED STATES -- (Marketwire) -- 01/03/13 -- STATS ChipPAC Ltd. ("STATS ChipPAC" or the "Company") (SGX-ST: STATSChP), a leading semiconductor test and advanced packaging service provider, today provided an update for the fourth quarter 2012.

In its fourth quarter 2012 outlook published in the Company's third quarter 2012 results release dated 25 October 2012, the Company had expected net revenues to be approximately 2% to 8% increase compared to the prior quarter, with adjusted EBITDA(1) in the range of 21% to 27% of revenue, and had expected capital expenditure(2) in the fourth quarter of 2012 to be approximately $40 million to $50 million.

STATS ChipPAC now expects net revenues for the fourth quarter 2012 to be approximately $475 million to $482 million, an increase of approximately 16% to 18% compared to the prior quarter due to higher communications market demand and strong ramp in advanced silicon node wafers for high end smartphones and tablets. STATS ChipPAC further expects adjusted EBITDA(1) to be in the range of 25% to 26% of revenue and expects capital expenditure(2) to be in the range of $55 million to $60 million in the fourth quarter of 2012.

Investors should consider these assumptions and make their own assessment of the future performance of STATS ChipPAC and note that there may not be a direct correlation between the net income of the Company with adjusted EBITDA as a percentage of revenue.
