Skip Barber Racing School Launches Racer-for-a-Day Experience™ Reward at Consumer Electronics Show for Dynamics ePlate™ Credit Card Device

Skip Barber Racing School leads the pack again today with the national launch of the Racer-For-A-Day Skip Barber experience™ reward for the battery-powered Dynamics ePlate™ credit card device. The innovative offering, launched at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), lets consumers race cars at Skip Barber tracks simply by making purchases on the Dynamics ePlate™ credit card device.

When selected, the Racer-For-A-Day Skip Barber experience™ reward allows consumers to earn digital racing tips by making purchases with their Dynamics ePlate™ credit card device. After a consumer makes $1,500 in purchases, a consumer earns a classroom training session. After $2,500 in purchases, a consumer earns a driving session with a professional instructor on a Skip Barber racetrack. The combined value of the training and driving session is $700. Accordingly, a consumer can earn $700 in Skip Barber value after $2,500 in purchases.

Consumers can sign up for a Dynamics ePlate™ credit card device at www.dynamicsinc.com/SkipBarberRacingSchool2.

“Skip Barber Racing School is the leader in motor sports education. We create driving and racing experiences that our customers will never forget. The Racer-For-A-Day experience gives us the opportunity to share our passion for motor racing with an even broader audience. After a day of instruction at the racetrack with us, consumers will never look at driving the same way again.” said Michael Culver, CEO of Skip Barber Racing School.

“Racing enthusiasts can now enjoy $700 in Skip Barber value by simply using their ePlate™ device to make $2,500 in purchases at any store” said Jeff Mullen, CEO of Dynamics. “While many traditional credit cards attempt to support a 1% reward, the Dynamics ePlate™ provides consumers with revolutionary value. Dynamics ePlate™ consumers can now earn a 28% experience reward from Skip Barber just by making their everyday purchases.”

Skip Barber is demonstrating the Racer-For-A-Day experience™ reward at the Dynamics Booth (35967) at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show from January 8th to January 11th. An F1 Skip Barber racecar is present at the booth. Show attendees can enjoy the thrill of an F1 racecar by posing for commemorative photographs as its driver.

The Dynamics ePlate™ is issued by UMB Bank, n.a. Credit approval required.

How It Works

The battery-powered ePlate™ credit card device is connected to an ecosystem of experience™ providers that each deliver a unique experience™ reward to the consumer. When making a purchase, a consumer simply presses a button on his/her ePlate™ credit card device to receive the experience™ reward associated with the pressed button. At any time, a consumer may change online the experience™ rewards associated with the different buttons on his/her ePlate™ credit card device. The credit card rewards are called experience™ rewards because experience™ rewards are the first rewards to be delivered instantly, within seconds of a purchase, to the consumer. Furthermore, experience™ providers are provided with consumer-approved payments data so the rewards can be personalized to a consumer’s spending habits. The ePlate™ payment device is as durable as a traditional payment card and will last more than three years on a single battery charge. The technology does not require any change to the 60 million 1970s-era magnetic stripe readers or reeducation of its merchant base. To learn more, visit DynamicsInc.com.

Now that the world has connected “things,” we need to build these devices as truly intelligent in order to create instantaneous and precise results. This means you have to do as much of the processing at the point of entry as you can: at the edge. The killer use cases for IoT are becoming manifest through AI engines on edge devices. An autonomous car has this dual edge/cloud analytics model, producing precise, real-time results. In his session at @ThingsExpo, John Crupi, Vice President and Eng...
There are 66 million network cameras capturing terabytes of data. How did factories in Japan improve physical security at the facilities and improve employee productivity? Edge Computing reduces possible kilobytes of data collected per second to only a few kilobytes of data transmitted to the public cloud every day. Data is aggregated and analyzed close to sensors so only intelligent results need to be transmitted to the cloud. Non-essential data is recycled to optimize storage.
"I think that everyone recognizes that for IoT to really realize its full potential and value that it is about creating ecosystems and marketplaces and that no single vendor is able to support what is required," explained Esmeralda Swartz, VP, Marketing Enterprise and Cloud at Ericsson, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at @ThingsExpo, held June 7-9, 2016, at the Javits Center in New York City, NY.
Microservices are a very exciting architectural approach that many organizations are looking to as a way to accelerate innovation. How to handle the dependencies between these disparate systems with different iteration cycles? Consider the "canoncial problem" ...
