DODGEVILLE, Wis., Jan. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Lands' End called in double the reinforcements and Good Housekeeping listened. "We've made durability a science with Iron Knee. Our Kids' designers, who are parents too, worked hard to ensure these pants would stand up, taking just about anything a kid can dish out," said Syndi Stark, vice president, Lands' End Kids. "We're so pleased and honored that Good Housekeeping took note and awarded Iron Knee Pants a VIP award. We know Good Housekeeping is just as tough in finding its product winners as we were in developing the Iron Knee technology."

VIP Awards

Good Housekeeping's VIP Awards celebrate products that are ingenious breakthroughs and solve everyday problems in new and exciting ways. The awards represent an outstanding achievement, as they are chosen from thousands of products and from laboratory testing by the scientists in the Good Housekeeping Research Institute as well as from consumer evaluation.

"We know that parents will love the idea of Lands' End Iron Knee Pants, which have built-in reinforced knee patches," said Miriam Arond, Director, Good Housekeeping Research Institute.  "But we also made sure that the trousers held up in our strength, shrinkage, and abrasion tests.  They did and we are happy to champion them in our VIP Awards feature."

The results of the VIP Awards will be published in the February issue of Good Housekeeping, landing on newsstands January 15, 2013.

Iron Knee: Innovation for Every Day

The hidden patch offers superior value by drastically prolonging the life of the fabric where kids need it most. Even with all the toughness, there's no need to sacrifice style and comfort. The invisible Iron Knee patch is undetectable from the outside. It's also soft and pliable to ensure superior comfort as kids jump, climb and crawl.

In addition to being washed and dried more than 50 times, Iron Knees are proven to withstand extensive professional abrasion testing. Iron Knee is available on several styles of boys' and girls' pants including Jeans, Chinos, School Uniform Chinos, Cargos and Cords. Visit landsend.com/kids and landsend.com/school to learn more.
