The Art of Dentistry Employs i-CAT Precise Cone Beam 3D Imaging System to Advance Patient Care

ODESSA, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 01/16/13 -- Dr. Robin Rutherford, a Permian Basin cosmetic dentist, has a history of commitment to continuing education that far exceeds the minimum requirements expected from a professional in his field. In the past four years, Dr. Rutherford has completed more than 400 hours of advanced study in dental implants, porcelain veneers, and other cosmetic procedures. Dr. Rutherford recently joined fellow industry professionals who gathered at the Inverness Hotel and Conference Center in Denver, CO for the 6th International Congress on 3D Digital Imaging.

At The Art of Dentistry, Dr. Rutherford's Midland-Odessa cosmetic dentistry practice, he uses i-CAT Precise Cone Beam 3D imaging system. This technology allows Dr. Rutherford to better visualize the entire mouth, allowing more precision and confidence when:

  • Placing and restoring dental implants
  • Performing guided surgery
  • Executing complex extractions
  • Treating endodontic cases

The movement from 2D to 3D imaging is a relatively new innovation in the field of dentistry, and conferences such as these keep dentists up to date on the latest technology and techniques. The conference covers topics ranging from:

  • The applications and benefits of using 3-D imaging
  • 3D imaging for sleep apnea, TMJ, and airway evaluation
  • Successful reimbursement strategies for billing 3D scans
  • Advances in Cone Beam 3D for Implants
  • What is the future of 3D dentistry?

Dr. Rutherford has witnessed other advantages of attending the conference as well. By coming together with other professionals in the field of cosmetic dentistry who also utilize i-CAT 3D imaging, he is able to learn how to optimize treatments using 3-D imaging while networking with other clinicians from around the world. He believes his commitment to continuing education keeps him updated with state-of-the-art developments in dentistry. This commitment to education not only benefits him as a professional, but also benefits all of the patients of The Art of Dentistry, as they can feel confident they are benefiting from the latest knowledge, techniques, and technology available.
