Daptiv Launches Powerful Reporting Options and Deeper Business Intelligence for Project Portfolio Management

Daptiv Powered by IBM Cognos Business Intelligence V10 Adds Custom Reports and Dashboards, Active Reports for On-the-Go Execs, Tablet Support and Personalized Content to PPM Solution

SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/21/13 -- Daptiv, the on-demand leader in project portfolio management software, today unveiled its next generation Business Intelligence capabilities for PPM. Business users can now access project and portfolio information with a range of views from simple real-time status reports to advanced dashboards with drill-through capabilities, enhancing the decision making process in a timely manner.

Daptiv's Work Intelligence™ system gives organizations in-depth visibility into business performance across the enterprise, through reports, scorecards and dashboards that can be accessed using a web-browser or a mobile device. With new tools and features, Daptiv provides its users with critical business insight into the planning and execution process, thereby giving them the much needed flexibility to manage, consolidate and consume information with greater ease.

"Daptiv's Work Intelligence™ has been the key to increased transparency and visibility throughout our organization," said Randy Bradley, Head of Global PMO at GSI Commerce, an eBay Inc. company. "With Daptiv, our decision-making regarding projects, resources, and priorities is based on a single source of truth. The new release of Daptiv's Work Intelligence system has allowed us to further improve our business analytics through self-service authoring of reports and dashboards. Running large and complex reports is faster and easier due to improved caching capabilities in the product."

Some of the key benefits of this upgrade include:

  • Instant visual access to key metrics using customizable dashboards -- New intuitive interface to track performance based on key performance indicators (KPIs) allows users to change display, add calculations, drill up and down, and sort data with advanced dashboard capabilities.
  • Advanced self-service authoring of reports and dashboards -- Gives the flexibility to create reports on the fly or modify existing reports using trusted data without having to ask IT.
  • Folder locking to secure reports and report templates -- This feature allows Daptiv to distribute standardized report templates while protecting the templates from being overwritten.
  • Highly interactive offline reports (aka Active Reports) -- Pulls together interactive analytics seamlessly on a PC or mobile device through a self-contained BI application without having to rely on online connectivity.
  • Personalized content -- Increased flexibility to schedule and distribute personalized content from a single report with reduced maintenance workload.
  • High Performance BI -- Improved response times and caching capability for faster access to dashboards and last run reports.

"IBM Cognos Business Intelligence V10 maps perfectly into Daptiv's strategy of integrating a full-fledged Business Intelligence capability with Project Portfolio Management," said John Baldwin, CEO at Daptiv. "Daptiv's ability to embed Business Intelligence capabilities into a project portfolio management solution, allows our customers to make the right decisions in a timely manner without the added burden of implementing a separate business intelligence system."

The next generation Business Intelligence is still evolving but it is going to change the way the billion dollar PPM industry operates. BI that has the capability to deliver accurate and personalized actionable reports and dashboards will define the success of project portfolio management in the near future. Daptiv's latest Work Intelligence™ enhancement takes project portfolio management to the next level by seamlessly integrating a high-performance BI system with the Daptiv platform.

While DevOps most critically and famously fosters collaboration, communication, and integration through cultural change, culture is more of an output than an input. In order to actively drive cultural evolution, organizations must make substantial organizational and process changes, and adopt new technologies, to encourage a DevOps culture. Moderated by Andi Mann, panelists discussed how to balance these three pillars of DevOps, where to focus attention (and resources), where organizations might...

New competitors, disruptive technologies, and growing expectations are pushing every business to both adopt and deliver new digital services. This ‘Digital Transformation’ demands rapid delivery and continuous iteration of new competitive services via multiple channels, which in turn demands new service delivery techniques – including DevOps. When growing capacity and power in the data center, the architectural trade-offs between server scale-up vs. scale-out continue to be debated. Both approaches are valid: scale-out adds multiple, smaller servers running in a distributed computing model, while scale-up adds fewer, more powerful servers that are capable of running larger workloads. It’s worth noting that there are additional, unique advantages that scale-up architectures offer. One big advantage is large memory and compute capacity...
In the world of DevOps there are ‘known good practices’ – aka ‘patterns’ – and ‘known bad practices’ – aka ‘anti-patterns.' Many of these patterns and anti-patterns have been developed from real world experience, especially by the early adopters of DevOps theory; but many are more feasible in theory than in practice, especially for more recent entrants to the DevOps scene. In this power panel at @DevOpsSummit at 18th Cloud Expo, moderated by DevOps Conference Chair Andi Mann, panelists discussed...
"When we talk about cloud without compromise what we're talking about is that when people think about 'I need the flexibility of the cloud' - it's the ability to create applications and run them in a cloud environment that's far more flexible,” explained Matthew Finnie, CTO of Interoute, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at 20th Cloud Expo, held June 6-8, 2017, at the Javits Center in New York City, NY.
Cloud applications are seeing a deluge of requests to support the exploding advanced analytics market. “Open analytics” is the emerging strategy to deliver that data through an open data access layer, in the cloud, to be directly consumed by external analytics tools and popular programming languages. An increasing number of data engineers and data scientists use a variety of platforms and advanced analytics languages such as SAS, R, Python and Java, as well as frameworks such as Hadoop and Spark...
The Internet giants are fully embracing AI. All the services they offer to their customers are aimed at drawing a map of the world with the data they get. The AIs from these companies are used to build disruptive approaches that cannot be used by established enterprises, which are threatened by these disruptions. However, most leaders underestimate the effect this will have on their businesses. In his session at 21st Cloud Expo, Rene Buest, Director Market Research & Technology Evangelism at Ara...

It’s the new “must have” in the hybrid era. Users want capabilities that give them a unified view of the data to get closer to customers and grow business. The...

The current age of digital transformation means that IT organizations must adapt their toolset to cover all digital experiences, beyond just the end users’. Today’s businesses can no longer focus solely on the digital interactions they manage with employees or customers; they must now contend with non-traditional factors. Whether it's the power of brand to make or break a company, the need to monitor across all locations 24/7, or the ability to proactively resolve issues, companies must adapt to...

After more than five years of DevOps, definitions are evolving, boundaries are expanding, ‘unicorns’ are no longer rare, enterprises are on board, and pundits are moving on.
