Canadian Kiosk Launches New High-Tech Digital Rewards Program at WinterBrewed on Sparks Street

Ottawa Company Harnesses the Power of NFC Technology

OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 02/08/13 -- Canadiankiosk.ca, Canada's largest online city guide is giving Ottawans the chance to save at local businesses with the launch of their Digital Rewards program. Canadian Kiosk Digital Rewards kicks off February 16th and 17th during Winterlude, as part of WinterBrewed beer festival on Sparks Street.

Canadian Kiosk representatives will be on site at WinterBrewed signing up new members, and the first 400 people to sign up at the Digital Rewards tent will receive access to an exclusive VIP party. The party is being held on Sunday February 17th in the Marriot Hotel ball room, in celebration of the program launch. Party attendees will have the chance to win thousands of dollars in prizes, while enjoying a live band, as well as food, cocktails, and local craft beers.

Digital Rewards by Canadiankiosk.ca is a loyalty program with a twist. Members earn points just for walking into local businesses, no purchase necessary! Members can trade in their points at the Digital Rewards Online Store for gift certificates, freebies, and special members-only offers. It's easy to get started, simply visit www.digitalrewards.ca, sign up for a bracelet, key chain, or card - and register it at one of the Canadiankiosk.ca Digital Rewards Kiosks installed at participating businesses.

The in-store shopping experience is destined to change for Canadian Kiosk Digital Rewards partners, and members. Recognizing that Near Filed Communication (NFC) is quickly becoming standard on next generation mobile devices, Canadian Kiosk Digital Rewards Members can use NFC enabled phones to rack up their reward points at participating retailers instead of carrying a traditional membership card.

Eager Digital Rewards Members can collect extra points by participating in Canadian Kiosk Missions, such as the Bar Star Mission where members check into three bars within 6 hours, and are rewarded extra points for successfully completing the mission! For those with a more cultured palate, the Art Attack mission awards bonus points for visiting three art galleries in a six hour period.

The CanadianKiosk.ca Digital Rewards program also rewards its members for being loyal by offering four levels of membership. Members begin as a 'Tourist', and as points are accumulated, graduate to the level of 'Local', 'VIP', and finally 'Local Celeb'. The more businesses the member experiences - and the more events they attend - the bigger their rewards. Not only will higher ranking members have access to better deals, they are also given more exciting missions, as well as better items in the Digital Rewards Online Store.

The program is all about enjoying what is local. From arts and entertainment, to high end shopping and sporting events, Canadian Kiosk is set to create the largest and most trusted online rewards programs that encourages people to buy locally, and be active in their communities.

"Avere Systems is a hybrid cloud solution provider. We have customers that want to use cloud storage and we have customers that want to take advantage of cloud compute," explained Rebecca Thompson, VP of Marketing at Avere Systems, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at 18th Cloud Expo, held June 7-9, 2016, at the Javits Center in New York City, NY.
Choosing the right cloud for your workloads is a balancing act that can cost your organization time, money and aggravation - unless you get it right the first time. Economics, speed, performance, accessibility, administrative needs and security all play a vital role in dictating your approach to the cloud. Without knowing the right questions to ask, you could wind up paying for capacity you'll never need or underestimating the resources required to run your applications.
"We view the cloud not really as a specific technology but as a way of doing business and that way of doing business is transforming the way software, infrastructure and services are being delivered to business," explained Matthew Rosen, CEO and Director at Fusion, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at 18th Cloud Expo, held June 7-9, 2016, at the Javits Center in New York City, NY.
When it comes to cloud computing, the ability to turn massive amounts of compute cores on and off on demand sounds attractive to IT staff, who need to manage peaks and valleys in user activity. With cloud bursting, the majority of the data can stay on premises while tapping into compute from public cloud providers, reducing risk and minimizing need to move large files. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Scott Jeschonek, Director of Product Management at Avere Systems, discussed the IT and busin...
There will be new vendors providing applications, middleware, and connected devices to support the thriving IoT ecosystem. This essentially means that electronic device manufacturers will also be in the software business. Many will be new to building embedded software or robust software. This creates an increased importance on software quality, particularly within the Industrial Internet of Things where business-critical applications are becoming dependent on products controlled by software. In addition to all the benefits, IoT is also bringing new kind of customer experience challenges - cars that unlock themselves, thermostats turning houses into saunas and baby video monitors broadcasting over the internet. This list can only increase because while IoT services should be intuitive and simple to use, the delivery ecosystem is a myriad of potential problems as IoT explodes complexity. So finding a performance issue is like finding the proverbial needle in the haystack.
"We host and fully manage cloud data services, whether we store, the data, move the data, or run analytics on the data," stated Kamal Shannak, Senior Development Manager, Cloud Data Services, IBM, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at 18th Cloud Expo, held June 7-9, 2016, at the Javits Center in New York City, NY.
Machine Learning helps make complex systems more efficient. With over 720 million Internet users and 40–50% CAGR, the Chinese Cloud Computing market has been booming. When talking about cloud computing, what are the Chinese users of cloud thinking about? In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Yu Hao, CEO and co-founder of SpeedyCloud, answered these questions and discussed the results of SpeedyCloud’s survey.
Organizations planning enterprise data center consolidation and modernization projects are faced with a challenging, costly reality. "This week we're really focusing on scalability, asset preservation and how do you back up to the cloud and in the cloud with object storage, which is really a new way of attacking dealing with your file, your blocked data, where you put it and how you access it," stated Jeff Greenwald, Senior Director of Market Development at HGST, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at 18th Cloud Expo, held June 7-9, 2016, at the Javits Center in New York City, NY.
