SiriusXM to Broadcast Exclusive Town Hall Event with Former Vice President Al Gore

Gore to sit down with SiriusXM listeners for intimate Q & A session about his new book, "The Future," and critical drivers of global change

NEW YORK, Feb. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) announced today that former Vice President Al Gore will be the featured guest on an upcoming installment of SiriusXM's "Town Hall" series, intimate gatherings with iconic leaders, newsmakers and entertainers sitting down with a studio audience of SiriusXM listeners.


SiriusXM's "Town Hall with Al Gore" will take place at SiriusXM's New York City studios and air on Thursday, February 28 at 9:00 pm ET on progressive talk channel SiriusXM Left, channel 127.

Throughout the hour-long special, hosted by Ari Rabin-Havt – host of SiriusXM's The Agenda, Senior Advisor to Media Matters and a leading voice in progressive politics – Gore will take a variety of questions from the audience and discuss his new book – The Future: Six Drivers of Global Change – his Nobel Peace Prize-winning efforts to inform the world of the dangers posed by climate change and his time serving as the forty-fifth Vice President of the United States.

Gore is co-founder and chairman of Generation Investment Management, a partnership that is focused on a new approach to sustainable investing. In addition, he is a senior partner of the venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers and a member of the board of directors of Apple, Inc. Gore spends the majority of his time as chairman of The Climate Reality Project, a non-profit focused on solutions to the climate crisis. He is the author of the bestsellers Earth in the Balance, An Inconvenient Truth, The Assault on Reason, and Our Choice: A Plan to Solve the Climate Crisis. He is the subject of the Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth and is the co-recipient, with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.

Rabin-Havt, host of SiriusXM Left's The Agenda, is CEO of the American Independent News Network and is on the faculty of the George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management.
