UNIBEST Technology Takes Root with WinField/Land O’Lakes, Optimizes Crop Yield

UNIBEST International, a Washington based agriculture technology company, has developed a resin capsule technology for soil and water analysis in agricultural, turf care, and home and garden environments. This new resin technology has been paired with other agronomic technology at WinField, a Land O’Lakes company, to increase agricultural yield potential.

Filled with a unique resin blend in a mesh capsule about the size of a cherry tomato, the UNIBEST product allows direct nutrient measurements in the field, giving agronomists and farmers a more complete view of plant nutrition. The capsule absorbs nutrients, chemicals or organic substances and reveals dynamics and biodiversity with the soil. UNIBEST resins mimic a plants root system and absorb available nutrients.

Land O’Lakes, Inc. is a growing, farmer-owned food and agriculture cooperative that does business in all 50 states and in more than 60 countries. Today, Land O’Lakes is the second largest U.S. cooperative with approximately 9,600 employees, nearly 4,000 direct producer-members and 900 member-cooperatives serving more than 300,000 agricultural producers. Land O’Lakes, Inc. has annual sales of over $14 billion and is No. 210 on the Fortune 500.

“Our proven technology and data reliability will be a great asset to WinField and its numerous stakeholders, and help take UNIBEST and WinField into an increasingly exciting future in agriculture,” said Mark Reiss, CEO, UNIBEST. “We are deeply grateful to Innovate Washington and the William A. Grant Water and Environmental Center at Walla Walla Community College. Both have been instrumental in the growth of UNIBEST and I cannot express my gratitude enough.” UNIBEST CEO expects to set up new manufacturing facilities and equipment in Walla Walla to meet increased demand for their product in the next 24 months.

Innovate Washington supported UNIBEST over the past two years with business planning, marketing strategy, capital distribution prioritization, business and finance connections and distribution agreement coaching. Innovate Washington provides business acceleration services to more than 40 companies throughout the state who have production ready technology and are entering the commercial market.

For example, users can correlate code deploys to system performance to application error codes. In his session at DevOps Summit, Michael Demmer, VP of Engineering at Jut, will discuss how this can...

The basic integration architecture, as defined by ESBs, hasn’t changed for more than a decade. Most cloud integration providers still rely on an ESB architecture and their proprietary connectors. As a result, enterprise integration projects suffer from constraints of availability and reliability of these connectors that are not re-usable across other integration vendors. However, the rapid adoption of APIs and almost ubiquitous availability of APIs amongst most SaaS and Cloud applications are ra...
