Bills And BlueRock Energy Announce Partnership

Leading New York State energy services company to become exclusive energy supplier of the Bills, as well as game day sponsor of opening game against New England Patriots

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y., July 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Buffalo Bills today announced a new long-term partnership with BlueRock Energy, an energy services company supplying energy to business and residential customers across New York State.  As part of the agreement, BlueRock Energy will become the Official Electricity Supplier of the Buffalo Bills, providing customized solutions that best suit the specific energy needs of the organization.

To kick-off the partnership, BlueRock Energy will serve as the Game Week Sponsor of the Bills home opener against the New England Patriots.  Throughout the week leading up to the game, BlueRock Energy will be featured on the John Murphy Show, in both pregame and postgame shows, within the Bills Game Day Magazine and on Buffalobills.com.

"BlueRock Energy was a company we knew we wanted to partner with from our first meeting," said Bruce Popko, Bills Senior Vice President of Business Development.  "BlueRock Energy has a vast knowledge of the energy market in New York State and that knowledge is going to serve Ralph Wilson Stadium well in the future.  Couple that with their plans to enhance our fans in-stadium experience and this has the makings of a truly great partnership."

This fall, fans attending games will get to experience the BlueRock Energy Fan Energy Meter on the video board at Ralph Wilson Stadium.  The Fan Energy Meter is a unique and fun way to get fans into the game when the team is on defense.  Also, after each game Bills fans will have the opportunity to vote, on Facebook, for the BlueRock Energy Player of the Game. The winners will be announced via the Bills Facebook and Twitter feeds on a weekly basis.

"We are thrilled to have been named as the exclusive electricity provider of the Buffalo Bills, as well as a major sponsor of the Bills for the next several years," said Phil VanHorne, CEO of BlueRock Energy. "The Bills have been a staple of Western New York tradition for decades, and have the most loyal and supportive fan base in the NFL. We look forward to teaming up with the fans, business community and all of those who count themselves as part of Bills Nation, for years to come."

BlueRock Energy will also participate in a variety of fan-related activities over the course of the coming seasons. The company will be a part of Training Camp and available to Buffalo Bills fans within the vendor tent, and be featured during the Bills Preseason, Pregame and Postgame television shows.

Founded in 1959, the Buffalo Bills are one of the most storied franchises in the National Football League (NFL). The Bills have won two American Football League (AFL) Championships (1964 - 1965) and won an NFL record four straight AFC Championships (1990 - 1993) that included four trips to the Super Bowl. The Bills are a progressive organization and pride themselves on the regionalization of their team. They hold their training camp in Rochester, NY and were the first NFL team ever to play a home game in Canada with the Bills Toronto Series that began in 2008. As Western New York's top-rated sports and entertainment choice, the Bills annually entertain three quarters of a million fans at Ralph Wilson Stadium, produce the region's number-one rated sports television programming, have one of the NFL's largest fan clubs with the Bills Backers, and host the most visited team website in Western New York. Under the guidance of Hall of Fame member and original team founder, Ralph C. Wilson, Jr., the Bills will play one regular season game in Toronto in 2013. DevOps is under attack because developers don’t want to mess with infrastructure. They will happily own their code into production, but want to use platforms instead of raw automation. That’s changing the landscape that we understand as DevOps with both architecture concepts (CloudNative) and process redefinition (SRE). Rob Hirschfeld’s recent work in Kubernetes operations has led to the conclusion that containers and related platforms have changed the way we should be thinking about DevOps and...

The next XaaS is CICDaaS. Why? Because CICD saves developers a huge amount of time. CD is an especially great option for projects that require multiple and frequent contributions to be integrated. The only way to get CICD to work in a highly secure environment takes collaboration, patience and persistence. Building CICD in the cloud requires rigorous ar...
Companies are harnessing data in ways we once associated with science fiction. Analysts have access to a plethora of visualization and reporting tools, but considering the vast amount of data businesses collect and limitations of CPUs, end users are forced to design their structures and systems with limitations. Until now. As the cloud toolkit to analyze data has evolved, GPUs have stepped in to massively parallel SQL, visualization and machine learning.

To get the most out of their data, successful companies are not focusing on queries and data lakes, they are actively integrating analytics into their operations with a data-first application development approach. Large industrial manufacturing organizations are adopting the agile principles of cloud software companies. The industrial manufacturing development process has not scaled over time. Enterprises are adopting Kubernetes to accelerate the development and the delivery of cloud-native applications. However, sharing a Kubernetes cluster between members of the same team can be challenging. And, sharing clusters across multiple teams is even harder. Kubernetes offers several constructs to help implement segmentation and isolation. However, these primitives can be complex to understand and apply. As a result, it’s becoming common for enterprises to end up with several clusters. Thi...
