Rabbi Discovers a Hamptons' Best Kept Secret

North Haven in the Hamptons Serves as Perfect Spot for Organic Spirituality

NORTH HAVEN, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 08/23/13 -- North Haven in the Hamptons, with its pristine waters and natural beauty, has another thing going for it -- Rabbi Berel Lerman and his wife, Brocha, have recently moved to North Haven (just over the Sag Harbor bridge) where they find the splendor of their surroundings a perfect place for organic spirituality. For some, this has meant blessing their yachts; for others, participating in waterfront seminars.

Rabbi Berel Lerman teaches Kabbalah in NYC during the winter and is director of Spirituality For All, a Jewish based spirituality movement, and now with his wife, Brocha, has started Chabad North Haven in The Hamptons, a community based Jewish spiritual initiative.

"I think North Haven is a natural enclave which is one of the Hamptons' best kept secrets. The summer encourages relaxation and stress reduction, and thus, is an opportune time for personal development and positive change. People are a lot more open-minded," says Rabbi Lerman.

Families have opened their homes to host study and prayer groups where the participants -- ranging from artists and writers to executives and Wall St Bankers -- recite ancient passages in Hebrew or English and no one is judged. Others enjoy mingling at a pool side Kiddush -- the traditional dinner or luncheon celebrating the Sabbath. "This gives people a good feeling. Many people who I meet are not interested in religion, but are very spiritual. With the Kabbalah and Chabad teachings we place a strong emphasis on getting in touch with our spiritual side!" Rabbi Lerman proclaims.

The Challah baking group lead by Mrs. Brocha Lerman is also a hit. People love the mixture of cooking and culture, and that is precisely what this group offered, perking people's interests in addition to their taste buds.

Artificial intelligence, machine learning, neural networks. We’re in the midst of a wave of excitement around AI such as hasn’t been seen for a few decades. But those previous periods of inflated expectations led to troughs of disappointment. Will this time be different? Most likely. Applications of AI such as predictive analytics are already decreasing costs and improving reliability of industrial machinery. Furthermore, the funding and research going into AI now comes from a wide range of com...
When growing capacity and power in the data center, the architectural trade-offs between server scale-up vs. scale-out continue to be debated. Both approaches are valid: scale-out adds multiple, smaller servers running in a distributed computing model, while scale-up adds fewer, more powerful servers that are capable of running larger workloads. It’s worth noting that there are additional, unique advantages that scale-up architectures offer. One big advantage is large memory and compute capacity...

IoT solutions exploit operational data generated by Internet-connected smart “things” for the purpose of gaining operational insight and producing “better outcomes” (for example, create new business models, eliminate unscheduled maintenance, etc.). Both SaaS vendors and SaaS buyers are going “all-in” to hyperscale IaaS platforms such as AWS, which is disrupting the SaaS value proposition. Why should the enterprise SaaS consumer pay for the SaaS service if their data is resident in adjacent AWS S3 buckets? If both SaaS sellers and buyers are using the same cloud tools, automation and pay-per-transaction model offered by IaaS platforms, then why not host the “shrink-wrapped” software in the customers’ cloud? Further, serverless computing, cl...
