“Issuu is transforming the way readers discover and engage with publications online and how publishers distribute and monetize content. The company has experienced a tremendous amount of traction just in the past few months, growing from 11.5 to over 14 million publications since June,” said Joe Hyrkin, Chief Executive Officer. “I’m excited to join Issuu at this pivotal time and with our new presence in Silicon Valley, we can expand our partnerships with leading brands and publishers. As we’ve done throughout our history, we will continue to transform the digital content landscape with a focus on connecting great content with people who are most inspired by it.”

According to a recent report from PriceWaterhouseCoopers it is predicted that consumer spending on digital magazines will exceed $80.2B by 2016. Issuu allows readers to discover high-quality content from a wide range of publishers globally. Its depth and breadth of content spans mainstream publications such as V Magazine to special interest and enlightening magazines such as Vice and Red Bulletin and portfolios by the artist, Tom Sachs.

"Issuu plays an important role in the content discovery ecosystem. It's exciting to discover a platform that effectively connects readers with the content they love, while enabling great publishers to thrive in the digital universe,” said Bradley Horowitz, Vice President of Product Management, Social Products Division at Google. “I have been impressed by what Issuu has built so far, and I'm excited to help guide their continued growth and global expansion. In the two decades I've known and worked with Joe Hyrkin, he has consistently demonstrated a uniquely bold vision around the democratization of content, making him the ideal person to lead Issuu."

Joe Hyrkin brings more than 20 years of tech and publishing sector expertise to the Issuu team. Previously CEO of Reverb as well as Entrepreneur in Residence at Trinity Ventures, Hyrkin has also held top leadership positions at Gaia Interactive, Yahoo!, Flickr and Virage, Inc.

Bradley Horowitz is Vice President of Product Management, Social Products Division at Google. Previously Bradley led product management for Google’s consumer application sector managing products such as Gmail, Google Talk, Google Docs, Google Voice and Calendar. Previously he directed advanced development at Yahoo!, and played a key role in its acquisition of Flickr.
