Intermedia's Office in the Cloud Adds Legally Compliant Email Archiving for EMEA

Intermedia's Email Archiving for Its Hosted Exchange Service Preserves, Protects and Recovers Email to Safeguard Intellectual Property, Assure Legal Compliance and Speed eDiscovery

BASINGSTOKE, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwired) -- 10/02/13 -- Intermedia, the world's largest one-stop shop for cloud IT services and business applications, enhanced its Office in the Cloud™ suite of services in EMEA with legally compliant email archiving. This service helps businesses cope with two growing challenges: the continually rising volume of email coupled with the growing set of industry regulations and legal risks compelling businesses to retain communications in perpetuity.

Intermedia's cloud-based Email Archiving service provides the perfect solution for protecting the institutional knowledge contained in an organization's email. By integrating email storage, security and recovery features, Email Archiving alleviates pressures on business and IT leaders to preserve intellectual property, simplify legal eDiscovery, and assure compliance with regulatory requirements including those set out, for example, by the UK's FCA, PRA and legislation such as the Data Protection Act of 1998.

Features include:

  • 100 percent data capture across devices and platforms (including POP/IMAP accounts)
  • Unlimited storage, users and retention time
  • Simple, flexible searching, filtering, tagging and recovery methods
  • Export options include PST, SF, EML, HTML, PDF and other formats
  • Encryption of data both in-transit and at-rest
  • End-user access via Intermedia's MyServices (accessible though the web or Outlook)
  • Free 24/7 phone and email support
  • Worry-free security and reliability
  • Plan flexibility: add archiving for every mailbox or just specific ones

"Compliant Email Archiving adds protection against legal and regulatory issues beyond the data security, backup and reliability levels for which Intermedia is already known," says Ed Macnair, Managing Director, EMEA. "Our cloud already assures business continuity for all of our customers. Email Archiving adds to that by storing emails in a EU-based, tamper-proof data center so they are formally admissible as evidence, compliant with industry regulations and protected against accidental or intentional deletion by employees."

Archived email is easily accessed and managed using Intermedia's HostPilot control panel. HostPilot empowers administrators with all of the control they'd expect from an on-premise deployment. For example, they can sync Intermedia's cloud services with their on-premise Active Directory. In addition, VARs, MSPs and other partners use HostPilot to rapidly design, customize and deploy their own private-labeled cloud offerings.

Email Archiving for EMEA builds upon Intermedia's recent acquisition of UK identity and access management vendor, SaaSID. In addition to strengthening Intermedia's commitment to protecting EMEA customers data, Intermedia now provides all of its customers with a single point of control over their employees' access to cloud services and applications and minimizes the risk of unauthorized access to sensitive data.

Keeping pace with advancements in software delivery processes and tooling is taxing even for the most proficient organizations. Point tools, platforms, open source and the increasing adoption of private and public cloud services requires strong engineering rigor - all in the face of developer demands to use the tools of choice. As Agile has settled in as a mainstream practice, now DevOps has emerged as the next wave to improve software delivery speed and output. To make DevOps work, organization...
My team embarked on building a data lake for our sales and marketing data to better understand customer journeys. This required building a hybrid data pipeline to connect our cloud CRM with the new Hadoop Data Lake. One challenge is that IT was not in a position to provide support until we proved value and marketing did not have the experience, so we embarked on the journey ourselves within the product marketing team for our line of business within Progress. In his session at @BigDataExpo, Sum...
The modern software development landscape consists of best practices and tools that allow teams to deliver software in a near-continuous manner. By adopting a culture of automation, measurement and sharing, the time to ship code has been greatly reduced, allowing for shorter release cycles and quicker feedback from customers and users. Still, with all of these tools and methods, how can teams stay on top of what is taking place across their infrastructure and codebase? Hopping between services a...
Virtualization over the past years has become a key strategy for IT to acquire multi-tenancy, increase utilization, develop elasticity and improve security. And virtual machines (VMs) are quickly becoming a main vehicle for developing and deploying applications. The introduction of containers seems to be bringing another and perhaps overlapped solution for achieving the same above-mentioned benefits. Are a container and a virtual machine fundamentally the same or different? And how? Is one techn...

DevOps is often described as a combination of technology and culture. Without both, DevOps isn't complete. However, applying the culture to outdated technology is a recipe for disaster; as response times grow and connections between teams are delayed by technology, the culture will die. A Nutanix Enterprise Cloud has many benefits that provide the needed base for a true DevOps paradigm.
What sort of WebRTC based applications can we expect to see over the next year and beyond? One way to predict development trends is to see what sorts of applications startups are building. Whether you like it or not, DevOps is on track for a remarkable alliance with security. The SEC didn’t approve the merger. And your boss hasn’t heard anything about it. With billions of sensors deployed worldwide, the amount of machine-generated data will soon exceed what our networks can handle. But consumers and businesses will expect seamless experiences and real-time responsiveness. What does this mean for IoT devices and the infrastructure that supports them? More of the data will need to be handled at - or closer to - the devices themselves.
