INDEPENDENCE, Mo., Oct. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Low T Center is proud to announce the opening of its second Kansas City area center today in Independence. The center is located at 19045 E. Valley View Pkwy, Suite G Independence, MO 64055. Dr. Glenn Simon, D.O. is the Medical Director of the center. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
Low T Center is set up so men can walk in, take a simple blood test, and know within 30 minutes if they are a candidate for Testosterone Replacement Therapy, or TRT. With Kansas City having a male population of nearly 300,000 there are potentially thousands of men over 40 who have low t and may now have access to a Low T Center close to their home or work. Research indicates an established link between diabetes and low testosterone. Men with diabetes are more likely to have low testosterone. And men with low testosterone are more likely to later develop diabetes. Unsystematic lab test have shown that as many as half of men with diabetes have low testosterone. Scientists are not sure whether diabetes causes low testosterone, or the other way around. More research is necessary, but short-term studies show testosterone replacement may improve blood sugar levels and obesity in men with low testosterone. Research also links testosterone replacement to improvements in health issues including Alzheimer's and heart disease. However, low testosterone is not something that should be self-diagnosed or treated by mail or the internet. Complications and side effects can include high blood pressure, increased PSA levels, edema, and other serious issues.
