SUNNYVALE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/28/13 -- Exablox®, the company reimagining storage, is conducting a contest in Spiceworks and is calling all SpiceHeads, Spiceworks users, nationwide to share their best office pranks as part of SpiceWorld 2013. SpiceWorld 2013 is Spiceworks' 6th annual user conference that attracts hundreds of IT pros eager to learn best IT practices and meet new vendors. The Exablox contest aims to expose what shenanigans IT pros might undertake if their time wasn't consumed with managing storage. Exablox will be exhibiting at SpiceWorld 2013 Oct. 29 - 30 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas (booth #36) and will announce the winning online pranks on Tuesday, Oct. 29. Exablox will also be taking submissions at their SpiceWorld booth and will be selecting an additional winner on November 6th.
Exablox's OneBlox scale-out architecture enables non-disruptive and zero configuration capacity, performance, and availability expansion. This is combined with its always-on inline deduplication for primary storage and disk-based data protection. Exablox's OneSystem provides an elegant, secure, multi-tenant cloud-based management system that proactively manages OneBlox nearly eliminating the time required to manage storage.
"Savvy technology brands are using Spiceworks to reach IT professionals as they manage their networks, connect with peers, and learn about the latest products and services," said Jay Hallberg, co-founder and COO at Spiceworks. "Exablox's social marketing campaign is a great example of how technology companies can bring their brand to life, highlight challenges in the industry, and build brand recognition in a way that's fun and educational."
IT professionals in Spiceworks have been very active around the contest with almost 150 responses posted thus far. SpiceHeads have shared some great pranks ranging from the good 'ole Saran wrapping a co-worker's office to some unique kitchen pranks (visit the community page for details). DevOps tends to focus on the relationship between Dev and Ops, putting an emphasis on the ops and application infrastructure. But that’s changing with microservices architectures. In her session at DevOps Summit, Lori MacVittie, Evangelist for F5 Networks, will focus on how microservices are changing the underlying architectures needed to scale, secure and deliver applications based on highly distributed (micro) services and why that means an expansion into “the network” for DevOps.

"The idea of polyglot persistence is you have to apply the right database for the job - you always have to have many different databases in play. We offer that whole system as a service," explained Raj Singh, Developer Advocate for IBM Cloud Data Services, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at 16th Cloud Expo, held June 9-11, 2015, at the Javits Center in New York City.
