NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 11/18/13 -- Fueled By Ramen recording group Young The Giant has unveiled details for their highly anticipated 2014 headlining tour. The North American trek will kick off on February 4th at the Ventura Theater in Ventura, California, and continue into April. Highlights include shows at such famed venues as Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, and a two-night stand at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Support comes from indie-pop band Cayucas and Atlantic recording artist Vance Joy on select dates (see attached itinerary). Tickets for the tour go on sale to the general public beginning at 10am local time on Friday, November 22nd. Presale tickets will be available beginning at 10am local time on Tuesday, November 19th to fans signed up for Young The Giant's mailing list via the band's official website youngthegiant.com. The eagerly awaited tour celebrates the band's forthcoming second album "MIND OVER MATTER," set for release on January 21st, 2014. Produced by Grammy-nominee Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Beck, Nine Inch Nails, Paramore, M83), "MIND OVER MATTER" is heralded by the electrifying new single, "It's About Time," which has already begun its ascent on Alternative radio chart, climbing to the top 20 after scoring #1 most added honors in its first three weeks at the format. In addition, "It's About Time" became the #1 viral song worldwide on Spotify upon its release. The track's companion video -- directed by acclaimed visual artist David Vincent Wolf -- is streaming now at the band's official website youngthegiant.com.

Young The Giant is currently in the midst of a cross-country promotional tour and will close the year with headline appearances at a number of sold out radio concerts, including Denver, Colorado's 93.3 Not So Silent Night 2013 on December 1st.

Young The Giant has quickly established itself as one of the most exciting new bands to come out of Southern California in recent memory. Buoyed by hit singles including "Apartment" and RIAA-gold certified smashes "My Body" and "Cough Syrup," the quintet's 2010 full length debut "YOUNG THE GIANT" was a breakthrough success earning widespread acclaim from the likes of SPIN, The New Yorker, and Wall Street Journal who hailed the album as "a pop masterpiece with well-crafted songs, surprising arrangements and soaring vocal harmonies." Young The Giant spent much of 2011 and 2012 traveling the globe, with sold out headline tours, top-billing on MTVU's inaugural "Woodies Tour," and show-stopping appearances at such festivals as Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, and Lollapalooza. A dynamic and distinctive live act, the band also made a range of high profile TV performances, spanning ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and NBC's TODAY and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to 2011's MTV Video Music Awards and their own edition of MTV Unplugged.

The Internet of Things (IoT), in all its myriad manifestations, has great potential. Much of that potential comes from the evolving data management and analytic (DMA) technologies and processes that allow us to gain insight from all of the IoT data that can be generated and gathered. This potential may never be met as those data sets are tied to specific industry verticals and single markets, with no clear way to use IoT data and sensor analytics to fulfill the hype being given the IoT today.
Ask someone to architect an Internet of Things (IoT) solution and you are guaranteed to see a reference to the cloud. This would lead you to believe that IoT requires the cloud to exist. However, there are many IoT use cases where the cloud is not feasible or desirable. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Dave McCarthy, Director of Products at Bsquare Corporation, will discuss the strategies that exist to extend intelligence directly to IoT devices and sensors, freeing them from the constraints of ...

A completely new computing platform is on the horizon. They’re called Microservers by some, ARM Servers by others, and sometimes even ARM-based Servers. No matter what you call them, Microservers will have a huge impact on the data center and on server computing in general. Although few people are familiar with Microservers today, their impact will be felt very soon. This is a new category of computing platform that is available today and is predicted to have triple-digit growth rates for some ...
The Internet of Things will challenge the status quo of how IT and development organizations operate. Or will it? Certainly the fog layer of IoT requires special insights about data ontology, security and transactional integrity. But the developmental challenges are the same: People, Process and Platform and how we integrate our thinking to solve complicated problems. In his session at 19th Cloud Expo, Craig Sproule, CEO of Metavine, will demonstrate how to move beyond today's coding paradigm ...
Fifty billion connected devices and still no winning protocols standards. HTTP, WebSockets, MQTT, and CoAP seem to be leading in the IoT protocol race at the moment but many more protocols are getting introduced on a regular basis. Each protocol has its pros and cons depending on the nature of the communications. Does there really need to be only one protocol to rule them all? Of course not. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Chris Matthieu, co-founder and CTO of Octoblu, walk you through how Oct...
