University Business Names CrashPlan Enterprise Endpoint Backup a 2013 Readers' Choice Top Product

Code42, developers of award-winning, endpoint data protection and management solutions for consumers, businesses and the enterprise, today announced its CrashPlan enterprise endpoint backup was selected as a University Business Readers’ Choice Top Product for 2013.

Now in its second year, the annual University Business Readers’ Choice Top Products award recognizes the most innovative products in higher education. This prestigious list informs university leaders and administrators about the products their colleagues around the country are using to help their schools excel.

“The fact that we saw an increased response in the second year of this recognition program is a testament to the interest that higher ed leaders have in products for improving educational outcomes and operational efficiencies,” says JD Solomon, editorial director of University Business. “All of the honorees in our Top Products program should be very proud of their achievement.”

The 2013 Readers’ Choice Top Products winners were selected by the editors of University Business from hundreds of nominations submitted by readers. Winners were selected based on both the quantity of nominations and the quality of the nominees’ testimony of the product. The complete list of Top Products is featured online and in the January 2014 issue of University Business magazine.

“It is an honor to be recognized by the leaders of higher education for safeguarding the immense amount of data generated on their campuses,” said Matthew Dornquast, co-founder and chief executive officer of Code42. “The irreplaceable work of today’s top researchers and scholars is an asset that must be protected; we’re flattered to be entrusted with this critical task.”

Universities such as the University of Texas, Arizona State University, The Ohio State University, Stanford University, University of Notre Dame, Georgia Tech and University of Washington use CrashPlan to protect their data. Code42 case studies detailing business benefits realized from CrashPlan implementations within higher ed include:

  • The Ohio State University: Achieved a 98 percent decrease in time spent on enterprise endpoint backup
  • Augsburg College: Reduced IT time spent managing backups by 80 percent
