Telecom equipment maker Ericsson recently released its projected global 4G trend for the next five years. China Mobile’s 2014 net profit is predicted to drop three percent due to the government’s planned reduction in interconnection fees that smaller carriers pay. In a move to “strongly encourage private investment, spur creativity and competition in the telecommunications sector”, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology awarded licenses to 11 private enterprises to sell mobile services.
