Elkins Kalt Adds Environmental Expertise

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 01/06/14 -- Elkins Kalt Weintraub Reuben Gartside LLP ("Elkins Kalt") announces that Kenneth A. Ehrlich has joined the firm as a Partner. Ehrlich has more than 23 years of experience in environmental, land use and coastal permitting litigation, regulatory and administrative matters.

Ehrlich joined the Century City-based firm on January 4, 2014. For the past 16 years, Ehrlich has been affiliated in various capacities (associate, Of Counsel and Partner) at Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP. Ehrlich began his career at Reznik & Reznik.

"I will miss my many friends and mentors at my former firm, and I'm energized and excited to continue building my environmental and land use practice with Elkins Kalt. The energy and attitude of Elkins Kalt is amazing; it just feels right for my clients and me," said Ehrlich. "I am thrilled at the opportunity of joining a young, growing firm with so many outstanding attorneys and such a great reputation. Everyone I've talked to who knows about the firm raves about it."

Ehrlich represents a variety of clients in all aspects of environmental litigation, regulatory and administrative matters in state and federal courts and agencies (including CERCLA, RCRA, Clean Water Act, CEQA, California Coastal Act, common law claims and related insurance coverage matters). He also counsels clients in regulatory oversight, enforcement, entitlement and compliance matters concerning project development and permitting, facility operations, redevelopment and expansion and the purchasing, leasing and selling of environmentally contaminated parcels. Ehrlich has significant experience resolving petroleum, MTBE, chlorinated solvent, water quality, air emissions, Chromium-6, perchlorate, toxic mold, asbestos, indoor air quality, lead paint and Proposition 65 matters.

His current matters range from representing an assessment district trying to restore an eroded 1.1 mile stretch of beach in Malibu, CA to defending a landowner against EPA claims that certain land was created by using alleged PCB-laden fill materials from San Francisco Bay.

"Many of us have known Ken for more than a decade and we're thrilled that he has decided to join our firm," said Scott Kalt, a founding partner of Elkins Kalt. "He brings a legal and technical skill set that we lacked, and his energy and tenacity in representing clients well matches Elkins Kalt's culture."

I was curious to see if the same theme would still resonate 365 days later and what, if any, changes I would see in the content presented.

The cloud. Like a comic book superhero, there seems to be no problem it can’t fix or cost it can’t slash.
