The Swirl platform is the only enterprise-grade solution for creating, managing and optimizing large scale in-store mobile marketing campaigns leveraging iBeacon technology. Swirl's SecureCast™ Beacons, powered by Bluetooth Smart technology, along with the Swirl Marketing console and mobile client SDK, provide an end-to-end solution that allows major retailers to deliver highly targeted messages, content and offers to smartphone users while they shop in stores.  With its micro-location targeting capability, retailers can pinpoint a shopper's precise location within a store in order to create personalized and contextual shopping experiences.

"After reviewing hundreds of submissions, we are thrilled to introduce the finalists for the Bluetooth Breakthrough Awards. All finalists encapsulate the powerful yet practical innovation made possible because of Bluetooth Smart technology," said Suke Jawanda, Bluetooth SIG CMO. "Swirl's use of Bluetooth Smart technology to enhance the in-store shopping experience is a great example of how retailers can simultaneously better understand, engage, and serve their customers through beacons using a trusted wireless technology millions of consumers already have in the palm of their hand."

"For the past 18 months we have been developing our indoor positioning capability based on Bluetooth Smart technology. With widespread support from major phone manufacturers, an easily configurable broadcast range and very low power consumption, it has proven to be an incredibly powerful component of our platform," said Hilmi Ozguc, founder and CEO of Swirl. "The innovations enabled by Bluetooth technology are limitless and we're honored to be recognized by the Bluetooth SIG as a pioneer in the space."

Finalists for the Bluetooth Breakthrough Awards were revealed during the Bluetooth SIG media event on January 6th, at the 2014 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The overall winner, along with the category winners, will be announced at Pepcom MobileFocus Global on February 23rd, during Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain.

DevOps is under attack because developers don’t want to mess with infrastructure. They will happily own their code into production, but want to use platforms instead of raw automation. That’s changing the landscape that we understand as DevOps with both architecture concepts (CloudNative) and process redefinition (SRE). Rob Hirschfeld’s recent work in Kubernetes operations has led to the conclusion that containers and related platforms have changed the way we should be thinking about DevOps and...

Companies are harnessing data in ways we once associated with science fiction. Analysts have access to a plethora of visualization and reporting tools, but considering the vast amount of data businesses collect and limitations of CPUs, end users are forced to design their structures and systems with limitations. Until now. As the cloud toolkit to analyze data has evolved, GPUs have stepped in to massively parallel SQL, visualization and machine learning.
The next XaaS is CICDaaS. Why? Because CICD saves developers a huge amount of time. CD is an especially great option for projects that require multiple and frequent contributions to be integrated. But… securing CICD best practices is an emerging, essential, yet little understood practice for DevOps teams and their Cloud Service Providers. The only way to get CICD to work in a highly secure environment takes collaboration, patience and persistence. Building CICD in the cloud requires rigorous ar...

Large industrial manufacturing organizations are adopting the agile principles of cloud software companies. The industrial manufacturing development process has not scaled over time.
