FAIRPORT, N.Y., Jan. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- GateHouse Media LLC (the "Company" or "GateHouse Media"), a leading multi-media company providing news and information to local communities, today announced that Brad Dennison has been named Senior Vice President of Publishing. Dennison most recently managed the Large Daily Division of newspapers for GateHouse Media.
GateHouse Media President and COO Kirk Davis said Dennison will oversee corporate services that include News & Content, Advertising Sales and Marketing, and Consumer Marketing, as well as all publishing divisions, which include the Large Dailies, New England, Community East and Community West.
Dennison joined GateHouse Media more than seven years ago and has served as Regional Vice President of the Large Daily Division since January 2012. Prior to this role, he served as GateHouse Media's Vice President of News & Interactive, in which he oversaw all aspects of the company's news and online operations, including content strategy, and digital development and support.
From May 2004 to October 2006, he served as Vice President of News for Birmingham, Ala.-based Community Newspaper Holdings Inc., owner of more than 90 daily newspapers. Previously, he held editing positions at the Chicago Sun-Times, the Daily Southtown on Chicago's South Side, The Augusta (Ga.) Chronicle, and various community newspapers in the Midwest and South.
He just completed a one-year term as president of the Associated Press Media Editors and has served on its Board of Directors since 2008.
In a companywide announcement, Davis cited Dennison's news background as being "first and foremost" in the decision.

"He's earned a national reputation as a strong advocate for journalists and has successfully transitioned from a news executive to a digital executive to a business leader."
