SYSPRO Furthers Dedication, Commitment to Food Industry with Fancy Food Show Appearance

SYSPRO, a provider of best-of-breed, award-winning enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for on-premise and cloud-based utilization, announced today that SYSPRO is once again exhibiting at the Winter Fancy Food Show in Booth 1053, January 19 - 21, 2014, at the San Francisco Moscone Center. The SYSPRO exhibit will cover the myriad ways that SYSPRO ERP enables Food Manufacturers and Distributors to ease the numerous complexities they face in their efforts to maintain quality, avoid perishability, maximize inventory levels and time-to-market. In addition, SYSPRO for Food facilitates regulatory compliance, facilitating extensive ingredient and lot traceability across the extended supply chain.

The SYSPRO display details how SYSPRO ERP for Food improves procurement efficiency, transaction speeds and responsiveness to customer demand. No matter the recipe, SYSPRO traceability monitors the food or beverage life cycle from initial ingredient purchases, through manufacture to finished goods, shipment and final delivery. In addition, SYSPRO solution engineers will explain how SYSPRO inventory management promotes the maintenance of low inventory levels and high service levels, while incorporating multiple units of measure and catch weights that enable accurate product costing and pricing.

The solution engineers will also detail the ways SYSPRO ERP for Food can help food and beverage manufacturers and distributors:

  • Comply with Food Safety Regulations
  • Manage Product and Raw Material Traceability
  • Monitor Entire Supply Chain
  • Optimize Management and Planning with Improved Visibility
  • Control Costs to Increase Profitability

Mick Whitlock, President, Vann’s Spices, has stated that when he joined Vann’s, the company’s inventory control and management were sub-standard before SYSPRO. Today, he says, SYSPRO ERP more than meets the company’s needs.

“After implementing SYSPRO,” Whitlock noted in a recent video report, “we were able to study our data easily and could make some great business decisions. We improved our inventory processes substantially – we knew when to order, when to manufacture and when to ship. In fact,” he emphasized, “the whole manufacturing process end–to–end improved.”

Whitlock lists the pluses SYSPRO has brought to Vann’s: “Spectacular reports; an easy-to-use user interface; tailorabilty; and an exceptional customer experience. SYSPRO’s ERP solution is second to none,” he says, adding: “It’s not just the lot traceability, reporting, UI and food safety certification controls – I always know that the SYSPRO team has my best interests at heart and will do whatever necessary to keep my business running efficiently…”

Eighty percent of a data scientist’s time is spent gathering and cleaning up data, and 80% of all data is unstructured and almost never analyzed. Cognitive computing, in combination with Big Data, is changing the equation by creating data reservoirs and using natural language processing to enable analysis of unstructured data sources. This is impacting every aspect of the analytics profession from how data is mined (and by whom) to how it is delivered. This is not some futuristic vision: it's ha...
Let’s face it, embracing new storage technologies, capabilities and upgrading to new hardware often adds complexity and increases costs. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Seth Oxenhorn, Vice President of Business Development & Alliances at FalconStor, will discuss how a truly heterogeneous software-defined storage approach can add value to legacy platforms and heterogeneous environments. The result reduces complexity, significantly lowers cost, and provides IT organizations with improved effi...

Cognitive Computing is becoming the foundation for a new generation of solutions that have the potential to transform business. Unlike traditional approaches to building solutions, a cognitive computing approach allows the data to help determine the way applications are designed. This contrasts with conventional software development that begins with defining logic based on the current way a business operates. In her session at 18th Cloud Expo, Judith S. Hurwitz, President and CEO of Hurwitz & ...
It's easy to assume that your app will run on a fast and reliable network. The reality for your app's users, though, is often a slow, unreliable network with spotty coverage. What happens when the network doesn't work, or when the device is in airplane mode? You get unhappy, frustrated users. An offline-first app is an app that works, without error, when there is no network connection.
The principles behind DevOps are not new - for decades people have been automating system administration and decreasing the time to deploy apps and perform other management tasks. However, only recently did we see the tools and the will necessary to share the benefits and power of automation with a wider circle of people. In his session at DevOps Summit, Bernard Sanders, Chief Technology Officer at CloudBolt Software, explored the latest tools including Puppet, Chef, Docker, and CMPs needed to...
The cloud promises new levels of agility and cost-savings for Big Data, data warehousing and analytics. As enterprises work to take advantage of Big Data technologies, they frequently become distracted by product-level decisions. In most new Big Data builds this approach is completely counter-productive: it presupposes tools that may not be a fit for development teams, forces IT to take on the burden of evaluating and maintaining unfamiliar technology, and represents a major up-front expense. In his session at @BigDataExpo at @ThingsExpo, Andrew Warfield, CTO and Co-Founder of Coho Data, will dis...
In most cases, it is convenient to have some human interaction with a web (micro-)service, no matter how small it is. A traditional approach would be to create an HTTP interface, where user requests will be dispatched and HTML/CSS pages must be served. This approach is indeed very traditional for a web site, but not really convenient for a web service, which is not intended to be good looking, 24x7 up and running and UX-optimized. Instead, talking to a web service in a chat-bot mode would be muc...
