28 Realogy-affiliated executives ranked on 'Swanepoel Power 200' list

MADISON, N.J., Jan. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Richard A. Smith, chairman, chief executive officer and president of Realogy Holdings Corp. (NYSE: RLGY), was named as the Most Powerful Person in Residential Real Estate Brokerage for 2013, according to the inaugural Swanepoel Power 200 list.

Smith was cited for his leadership in steering Realogy through the housing downturn and on to a highly successful $1.2 billion IPO in late 2012 and positive business results in 2013, as well as for his contributions on the Housing Commission for the Bipartisan Policy Center, a highly influential Washington, D.C., think-tank. "While there are others who have higher personal profiles, within the industry there is no doubt that none have more power and influence in almost every aspect of real estate than Smith," stated the Swanepoel Power 200 report.

A total of 28 Realogy executives and independent brokers affiliated with Realogy's franchise brands were recognized in this ranking of industry leaders – more than any other real estate company in the nation. Realogy also led the way with six executives in the top 25.

"We are indeed proud to receive this recognition of Realogy's leadership within the industry," said Smith. "The combined placement of our executives and influential franchisees on this list is a tribute to the leaders we have attracted to our company and our franchise brands. We are honored to be included in such a distinguished list of influencers across the real estate industry."

The Swanepoel Power 200, authored by trends analyst Stefan Swanepoel and industry consultant Rob Hahn, is described as the most comprehensive list of influential CEOs, thought leaders and senior executives ever assembled in the residential real estate brokerage business. The rankings are based on multiple criteria that take into account the individual's personal influence, his/her tenure in the industry, the office he or she holds, the decision-making power of said office, the financial resources of the company or organization, the company or organization's significance and contribution to the industry, the company's geographic reach, and his or her recent activities, growth, and potential.

DevOps is under attack because developers don’t want to mess with infrastructure. They will happily own their code into production, but want to use platforms instead of raw automation. That’s changing the landscape that we understand as DevOps with both architecture concepts (CloudNative) and process redefinition (SRE). Rob Hirschfeld’s recent work in Kubernetes operations has led to the conclusion that containers and related platforms have changed the way we should be thinking about DevOps and...

Companies are harnessing data in ways we once associated with science fiction. Analysts have access to a plethora of visualization and reporting tools, but considering the vast amount of data businesses collect and limitations of CPUs, end users are forced to design their structures and systems with limitations. Until now. As the cloud toolkit to analyze data has evolved, GPUs have stepped in to massively parallel SQL, visualization and machine learning.
The next XaaS is CICDaaS. Why? Because CICD saves developers a huge amount of time. CD is an especially great option for projects that require multiple and frequent contributions to be integrated. But… securing CICD best practices is an emerging, essential, yet little understood practice for DevOps teams and their Cloud Service Providers. The only way to get CICD to work in a highly secure environment takes collaboration, patience and persistence. Building CICD in the cloud requires rigorous ar...

Large industrial manufacturing organizations are adopting the agile principles of cloud software companies. The industrial manufacturing development process has not scaled over time.
