Pioneering research business extends commitment to best of breed solution
London, UK and Oslo, Norway and New York, NY: January 14th, 2014: Confirmit, the leading global solutions provider for Customer Experience, Employee Engagement and Market Research is pleased to announce that Beehive Research, an independent Market Research and Insight consultancy, has renewed its long-standing commitment to Confirmit with a new three year contract. Confirmit will continue to underpin Beehive's global panel research, customer and employee engagement programmes.
Beehive has used Confirmit as its underlying online feedback collection and reporting solution since 2007 and this new multi-year deal will provide the expanding business with the scalability and reliability it requires. Key to the continuing success of the business will be the use of Confirmit Reportal's dashboard solutions, which deliver interactive, actionable survey results with real-time alerts.
Paul Kavanagh, Director at Beehive, explains: "Companies are increasingly looking for more insight, recommendations and support in driving action from their research programmes. They not only want to understand the customer journey better, but also to be able to use this information to improve customer engagement and make better business decisions. We firmly believe that it's the ability to combine strategic thinking with smart technology that enables our clients to bring the Voice of the Customer to the boardroom. Confirmit is a best of breed solution that enables us to design, build and manage global research projects, without any technologically imposed limitations."
Major projects carried out by Beehive to date include a global panel for Nespresso in 12 countries and an ongoing, global internal IT customer satisfaction programme for Mars, which was jointly presented with Mars at the 2013 Confirmit Community Conference.
Tim Hannington, EVP, Confirmit added: "We are delighted that Beehive has decided to extend its investment in Confirmit as it expands its business across Europe and further afield. The demand for customer-centric research programmes is undeniable and we have worked hard to ensure that Confirmit enables the next generation of research companies to take a more innovative and tailored approach to gathering insight."

Developing software for the Internet of Things (IoT) comes with its own set of challenges. Security, privacy, and unified standards are a few key issues. In addition, each IoT product is comprised of at least three separate application components: the software embedded in the device, the backend big-data service, and the mobile application for the end user's controls. Each component is developed by a different team, using different technologies and practices, and deployed to a different stack/...

When it comes to IoT in the enterprise, namely the commercial building and hospitality markets, a benefit not getting the attention it deserves is energy efficiency, and IoT’s direct impact on a cleaner, greener environment when installed in smart buildings. Until now clean technology was offered piecemeal and led with point solutions that require significant systems integration to orchestrate and deploy. There didn't exist a 'top down' approach that can manage and monitor the way a Smart Buildi...

As-a-service models offer huge opportunities, but also complicate security. It may seem that the easiest way to migrate to a new architectural model is to let others, experts in their field, do the work. This has given rise to many as-a-service models throughout the industry and across the entire technology stack, from software to infrastructure. While this has unlocked huge opportunities to accelerate the deployment of new capabilities or increase economic efficiencies within an organization, i...

You have your devices and your data, but what about the rest of your Internet of Things story? Two popular classes of technologies that nicely handle the Big Data analytics for Internet of Things are Apache Hadoop and NoSQL. Hadoop is designed for parallelizing analytical work across many servers and is ideal for the massive data volumes you create with IoT devices. NoSQL databases such as Apache HBase are ideal for storing and retrieving IoT data as “time series data.”

Clearly the way forward is to move to cloud be it bare metal, VMs or containers. One aspect of the current public clouds that is slowing this cloud migration is cloud lock-in. Every cloud vendor is trying to make it very difficult to move out once a customer has chosen their cloud. In his session at 17th Cloud Expo, Naveen Nimmu, CEO of Clouber, Inc., will advocate that making the inter-cloud migration as simple as changing airlines would help the entire industry to quickly adopt the cloud wit...
