Dr. Howard Murad to Speak on "The Art of Living Well" at photo l.a.

EL SEGUNDO, CA--(Marketwired - January 15, 2014) - Murad, Inc. is pleased to announce that Dr. Howard Murad will be a featured presenter at photo l.a. (www.photola.com), the acclaimed photographic art exposition, as part of this year's program of presentations.

In his presentation on "The Art of Living Well," Dr. Murad will discuss the role artistic expression can play in helping people to look, live and feel better. He will explore the science behind the therapeutic benefits of encouraging active artistic expression and the role creating art can play in an integrated wellness lifestyle guided by the principles of Inclusive Health® -- an innovative approach to wellness he discovered. He will also discuss the connection between art and youth-building, a whole-body method of preserving one's youthful appearance and good health.

"I'm excited to be able to share the health benefits of creating art with the attendees of this wonderful event," said Dr. Murad. "Our research has shown that participating in art has a direct correlation to improved health and overall wellbeing, and in this presentation, I'll explain why."

Dr. Murad's presentation will take place downtown at the historic LA Mart building (1933 Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90007) on Sunday, January 19, 2014, from 1:30 - 2:30pm.

Celebrating its 23rd year, photo l.a. 2014 will present its widest collaboration of photography yet, exhibiting works dating from the 19th century, up through the most cutting edge contemporary photo-based art. photo l.a. 2014 will continue its celebration of the photographic arts, both through the exhibition of internationally renowned galleries, and as a platform for education and discussion. Known for its dynamic programming, photo l.a. will once again spearhead a unique series of lectures, roundtable discussions, and docent tours as a valuable supplement to its exhibitions.

Dr. Murad himself is no stranger to the benefits of artistic expression. In 2008, after undergoing surgery to repair a detached retina, he was required to keep his head down with his chin to his chest for a month while the retina healed. At the suggestion of his wife, Dr. Murad started painting to help pass the time and discovered an unexpected passion for art and a way to reintroduce play and freedom of expression back into his life. Now an accomplished artist with hundreds of works having been exhibited and/or published, Dr. Murad has been benefiting his patients by making art therapy an important component of Inclusive Health.

Dr. Murad's presentation at photo l.a. is sponsored by Murad, Inc.

DevOps is under attack because developers don’t want to mess with infrastructure. They will happily own their code into production, but want to use platforms instead of raw automation. That’s changing the landscape that we understand as DevOps with both architecture concepts (CloudNative) and process redefinition (SRE). Rob Hirschfeld’s recent work in Kubernetes operations has led to the conclusion that containers and related platforms have changed the way we should be thinking about DevOps and...
The Internet of Things will challenge the status quo of how IT and development organizations operate. Or will it? Certainly the fog layer of IoT requires special insights about data ontology, security and transactional integrity. But the developmental challenges are the same: People, Process and Platform. Companies are harnessing data in ways we once associated with science fiction. Analysts have access to a plethora of visualization and reporting tools, but considering the vast amount of data businesses collect and limitations of CPUs, end users are forced to design their structures and systems with limitations. Until now. As the cloud toolkit to analyze data has evolved, GPUs have stepped in to massively parallel SQL, visualization and machine learning.
The next XaaS is CICDaaS. Why? Because CICD saves developers a huge amount of time. CD is an especially great option for projects that require multiple and frequent contributions to be integrated. But… securing CICD best practices is an emerging, essential, yet little understood practice for DevOps teams and their Cloud Service Providers. The only way to get CICD to work in a highly secure environment takes collaboration, patience and persistence. Building CICD in the cloud requires rigorous ar...

To get the most out of their data, successful companies are not focusing on queries and data lakes, they are actively integrating analytics into their operations with a data-first application development approach. Large industrial manufacturing organizations are adopting the agile principles of cloud software companies. The industrial manufacturing development process has not scaled over time. Enterprises are adopting Kubernetes to accelerate the development and the delivery of cloud-native applications. However, sharing a Kubernetes cluster between members of the same team can be challenging. And, sharing clusters across multiple teams is even harder. Kubernetes offers several constructs to help implement segmentation and isolation. However, these primitives can be complex to understand and apply. As a result, it’s becoming common for enterprises to end up with several clusters. Thi...
