Peer 1 Hosting Appoints Gary Sherlock as CEO

Peer 1 Hosting, the global web infrastructure and cloud hosting provider, today announced the appointment of Gary Sherlock as CEO. Sherlock served as Peer 1’s CFO for seven years before becoming co-CEO with Fabio Banducci, who resigned in November 2013. Peer 1 currently boasts more than 500 employees across 14 offices and 16 datacenters around the world. As part of Sherlock’s leadership, he aims to grow Peer 1 into a global company; partner with innovative, like-minded companies to power human potential online; and create an educational movement on how the Internet can change the world for the better.

When Sherlock joined the company in 2006, he worked diligently with Banducci to implement a strategy focused on delivering exceptional customer experience, expanding domestically and internationally, and ensuring growth while remaining profitable. Sherlock and Banducci’s complementary leadership styles fostered a customer-centric environment where employees are passionate not just about their work, but also professional and personal development to better serve customers. Under their leadership, Peer 1 flourished into a company that powers human potential online and believes that every interaction matters.

“I’ve been proud to be part of the Peer 1 team since the day I joined, and being appointed CEO is a sincere honor for me,” said Sherlock. “Though the company has evolved over the years, one unwavering element is our commitment to people – employees, customers and partners. I am proud to lead a team that is dedicated to powering human potential online and enabling customers to focus on the opportunities of the Internet, not the problems. I am grateful for the opportunity to lead Peer 1 as CEO and look forward to carrying out our vision and bringing the company to the next growth phase.”

Sherlock’s former co-CEO, Banducci, said, “For the past seven years, Peer 1 benefitted from a combination of leadership styles, and business experience and perspective. Gary is an accomplished leader who strives for excellence in all areas of business, and Peer 1’s dedicated employees and innovative customers will continue to benefit from his guidance.”
