Play18 Solutions to be the Exclusive Golf Tee Times Partner for Golf.com

NEW YORK, Jan. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Play18 Solutions, one of the golf industry's fastest growing marketing and technology companies and the Sports Illustrated Golf Group (Golf Magazine, SI Golf Plus, Golf.com) today announced a media, marketing and commerce pact that will see Play18 Solutions become the official Tee Time service provider for Golf.com.

Beginning in 2014, visitors to Golf.com's home page will be able to buy Tee Times from one of Play18 Solutions' quickly expanding roster of courses and resorts.  As part of the collaboration, the SIGG will provide marketing support for both Play18 Solutions and its golf course clients via its portfolio of print, digital, mobile and tablet products.

"This agreement is not only an incredible opportunity for Play18 Solutions but also for the golf course industry as it provides a much-needed remedy to the reliance on third-party distribution channels that are based on barter rounds," said Brett Darrow, founding partner and CEO of Play18 Solutions and founder and former CEO of GolfNow. "Now Play18 Solutions courses can sell their tee times through the world's most visited golf website, regain control of their pricing, customer data and substantially increase their marketing effectiveness while protecting their brand."

"We are excited about our partnership with Play18 Solutions," said Dick Raskopf, Publisher of SI Golf Group.  "We have had the opportunity to partner with a variety of companies to provide a tee time booking solution on Golf.com. We have been hesitant up to this point because we wanted to partner with a company that not only could provide tee times but that would also help golf courses improve their financial position. We think we have found a great partner in Play18 Solutions. They are committed to the same ideals that we are. We look forward to working with Brett and his team."

We are always online. We access our data, our finances, work, and various services on the Internet. But we live in a congested world of information in which the roads were built two decades ago. The quest for better, faster Internet routing has been around for a decade, but nobody solved this problem. We’ve seen band-aid approaches like CDNs that attack a niche's slice of static content part of the Internet, but that’s it. It does not address the dynamic services-based Internet of today. It does...

The Internet of Things (IoT) promises to simplify and streamline our lives by automating routine tasks that distract us from our goals. This promise is based on the ubiquitous deployment of smart, connected devices that link everything from industrial control systems to automobiles to refrigerators.
