Actuate Corporation (NASDAQ: BIRT), The BIRT Company™ and the leader in personalized analytics and insights, today announced its “PDF Accessibility Seminar,” a complimentary, interactive and educational event in Charlotte, North Carolina on January 23rd. Four sessions, led by Actuate Content Service Group’s Jeff Williams, Director of Product Management; Will Davis, Sales Engineering Manager; and Shannon Kelly, Accessibility Solutions Subject Matter Expert; as well as Thomas Logan, Senior Accessibility Consultant at SSB Bart Group, and Lou Fioritto, Co-Owner and Vice President at Braille Works, will present simple procedures and tools that can help organizations and their customers triumph over the common challenges regarding accessible online documents.
Specifically, Actuate experts will highlight Actuate’s PDF Accessibility Solution, an end-to-end software solution that integrates with organizations’ existing document management systems to capture high-volume print streams with thousands of documents and automatically remediate them into properly tagged, accessible documents for the visually impaired customer.
The speakers will also discuss accessibility regulations, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, with which all organizations must comply. Seminar attendees will learn how Actuate’s PDF Accessibility Solution makes it easy for organizations to adhere to these guidelines by transforming information into accessible PDF documents, allowing people with vision impairment to independently access and read them using computer and mobile device screen readers and screen magnification software.
