GoDaddy Expands WordPress Offerings with Managed Hosting

GoDaddy, the world’s largest Web hosting provider, is launching a new Web hosting platform dedicated to optimizing WordPress, the most popular content-management system. Live tomorrow, the new WordPress experience enables customers to focus on content creation, while GoDaddy handles the technical details of managing a Web hosting account including server set up, security, daily backups and performance optimization.

With nearly 2 million WordPress websites currently under management, GoDaddy has extensive experience with WordPress, and built Managed WordPress hosting from the ground up to provide the best possible experience and service. The GoDaddy team listened to customers, engaged WordPress experts and connected with Web professionals to create a product that provides a simple way to build a WordPress site that’s fast, reliable and secure, at an affordable price.

GoDaddy Managed WordPress automatically updates accounts to the latest version of WordPress and ensures that a website’s plug-ins aren’t vulnerable to security attacks or wasting resources, causing a website to perform poorly. In addition to protecting WordPress, GoDaddy offers layers of added security including firewalls, malware scanning and automated security patching – all supported by an award-winning Security Team with continuous monitoring.

“GoDaddy is committed to supporting the WordPress community with one of the fastest, most secure and reliable hosting platforms,” said GoDaddy Director of Hosting Product Management Bill Watt. “The team created a product that is easy-to-use and is robust and scalable as an enterprise-level service. GoDaddy Managed WordPress hosting costs a fraction of other competitors' prices and is backed by award-winning, around-the-clock customer service which makes this a great choice for anyone looking to get their website up and running.”

The new Web hosting service uses load-balanced servers dedicated to WordPress with multiple cashing layers and massively redundant SSD-backed file and database servers to ensure fast page loads and high scalability for traffic spikes. Users interested in transferring WordPress sites to GoDaddy can use a one-click migration tool that has been developed to automatically and simply move all the relevant files.

GoDaddy is officially launching the product at WordCamp Phoenix tomorrow. Participants of the event have been able to test out the product leading up to the event, in order to give feedback directly to the engineers and designers. Just as the product was created with feedback from users and experts, the team plans on using interactions with the WordPress community to continuously improve the product.

“GoDaddy’s WordPress solution has really taken the Waste Management Phoenix Open website to the next level,” said Tom King, Waste Management Phoenix Open Tournament Chairman. “We have had flawless performance since we started using the service. Our tournament is just around the corner and we completely trust GoDaddy to help us deliver a fast and reliable website, regardless of how many spikes in traffic we get.”

Leaders from the GoDaddy development team are hosting a Google Hangout to discuss the latest product offering tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. PT/1:30 p.m. ET. The link to participate in or view the Hangout is: https://plus.google.com/events/c7114b4mj5ks6t2iku7dj4f6928.
