President and CEO, Dan Wachtler, comments, "I have known Martin for over 11 years. I am very pleased to finally have convinced him to join our team. IPSA is best known for our Anti-Money Laundering and our international Investigative Due Diligence capabilities – the addition of Martin was a critical strategic step as we continue building our Anti-Bribery and Corruption practice as well as our internal investigative resources. Martin's reputation speaks for itself and we are very lucky to have him."

Martin brings 40 years of experience in investigating and preventing fraud and corruption while in leadership roles in law enforcement, consulting and the corporate sector. His extensive experience includes FCPA and anti-bribery compliance, financial investigations, litigation consulting, due diligence and corporate compliance design and implementation. He has conducted and managed hundreds of complex and high-risk internal investigations in more than 70 countries.

"I am very excited to join IPSA at such an important point in their global growth in the anti-corruption compliance and corporate investigations area. With the strong focus on the FCPA by U.S. authorities and the increasing attention by other countries on bribery prosecutions, robust anti-corruption compliance is critical for today's companies. IPSA has long provided valued services that help our clients mitigate risk and I am delighted to become a part of the organization as we enhance our service offerings.

Prior to joining IPSA, he was a Managing Director in the Global Investigations and Compliance Practice at an international consulting firm. In 2002, Martin founded and led Microsoft Corporation's Financial Integrity Unit, a highly acclaimed global fraud prevention and anti-corruption program. As Director of Financial Integrity, he created a unique investigative and compliance program that protected Microsoft from financial and reputational risk that continues to serve as a model for other global companies.

Martin is a former federal agent having served as a United States Postal Inspector in a variety of investigative and management assignments across the country. In 2009, he took a leave of absence from Microsoft to accept an appointment as Assistant Director and Deputy Chief Investigator with the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission.

Martin, a widely recognized corporate compliance thought leader, is both a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional. He has authored six authoritative books on the FCPA, corporate compliance, fraud prevention and identity theft. He is also the Chair of the Board of Advisors for the Economic Crime Institute at Utica College.

Throughout his career, Martin has received numerous awards and recognition from law enforcement, financial institutions, anti-fraud groups and professional organizations. In 2008, Mr. Biegelman was the recipient of the Cressey Award bestowed annually by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners for lifetime achievements in the detection and deterrence of fraud.
