Officials around the world with responsibility for their nation’s border security will now have a single online portal and mobile resource available to them beginning mid-March 2014 in the form of BorderNewsNetwork.com.
BorderNewsNetwork.com (BNN) is scheduled to launch mid-March 2014, coinciding with Border Security Expo, a trade show and exhibition being held in Phoenix, Ariz. The multi-media global network will be available in English, Spanish, French and Arabic, providing the latest breaking news, analysis, and product information on all aspects of border security.
“Nations throughout the world have a common challenge and goal: securing their borders while facilitating legitimate trade and travel,” said Paul Mackler, president & CEO of Eagle Eye Expositions, and owner of the portal. “BorderNewsNetwork.com is a solution-driven product we found was needed in the border security marketplace. We created it from more than a decade of information we learned from law enforcement agencies responsible for border security, customs and immigration at our Border Security Expo and US/Canada Border Conference. We can now help officials around the world advance their missions through information sharing, news reporting, analysis and product information.”
Mackler also announced that David Silverberg, founding editor of Homeland Security Today and previously managing editor of The Hill, the weekly newspaper covering the U.S. Congress, will serve as BorderNewsNetwork.com’s editor-in-chief.
“In a world where borders are the first line of defense against terrorism, crime and contraband, border security has never been more important,” said Silverberg. “Our readers have the daily duty of protecting their populations while safeguarding and facilitating legitimate trade, travel and immigration. These people need all the tools that can be provided and we’re proud to assist with journalism that is objective, accurate and insightful.”
“We are thrilled to have David become a member of our team to launch this exciting new web portal and direct its content,” said Mackler. “David’s deep understanding of border issues and two decades of expertise writing on the subject, along with our international contributing experts, ensures that BNN’s content will be timely, relevant, helpful, and on target, delivering significant value to our engaged website visitors”.
