Memjet and Image Star Announce Strategic Distribution Partnership for Memjet-Powered C6000 Series Devices

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Memjet and Image Star, a leading wholesaler of imaging products, announced a partnership in which Image Star will become a US distributor for Memjet-powered C6000 Series printers and related supplies. Memjet is the global leader in color printing technologies that provide remarkable speeds and affordability to OEMs, resellers and ultimately businesses.

Image Star will sell the C6010 printer and C6030 MFP (Multi-function Printer), as well as Memjet replacement printheads, ink tanks, and refilled ink tanks. Refilled ink tanks will be filled with authentic Memjet ink through authorized processes and sold at a discount to resellers. Image Star's expanded product line offering will ensure its customers looking to extend color printing technology solutions in the New Year have access to these offerings. With the C6000 Series printers, businesses can print both everyday office documents in color at a fraction of typical costs, as well as edge-to-edge marketing and sales documents at one page per second. Both devices release up to 700 million drops of ink per second to create impactful color printouts on a wide range of media. The C6010 is a high-speed color printer, ideal for business looking for productive and affordable color printing solutions. The C6030 MFP combines the high-speed color printer with a copier and scanner to provide a business with additional workflow-friendly scan to email/file and copy functions.

"Memjet has truly innovative printhead technology and adding these devices to our portfolio ensures we're providing our customers with the devices that can drive new value and profit via the latest technology," said Kelly Munro, VP Sales of Image Star. "Being one of the selected distributors for Memjet-powered printers puts us in a unique position with resellers looking for ways to transition their aging monochrome laser installed base to color and increase color pages across their accounts. We're looking forward to helping our customers increase the value of the fleets they manage by offering C6000 Series printers."

With a 60-page-per-minute run rate, Memjet-powered printers deliver convenient and affordable color output for offices. On average, Memjet's groundbreaking, high-density page-wide printheads and associated office-printing devices are twice as fast and only half the cost to run, compared to that of traditional color office laser printers.

"The new office ink category is opening up new possibilities for the office printing market. Memjet's C6000 device category is poised to grow rapidly in 2014, by offering blazingly fast and affordable color alternative to the vast installed base of monochrome laser printers and a new price point for convenient desktop color pages," said Kim Beswick, president, Memjet Office. "Memjet is leading the way with refillable cartridges that deliver high quality, low cost color pages and help resellers grow color pages profitably. We've put a focus on adding strategic distributors to our global network and we're excited to have Image Star as a new capable partner for the US market."

Just over a week ago I received a long and loud sustained applause for a presentation I delivered at this year’s Cloud Expo in Santa Clara. I was extremely pleased with the turnout and had some very good conversations with many of the attendees. Over the next few days I had many more meaningful conversations and was not only happy with the results but also learned a few new things. Here is everything I learned in those three days distilled into three short points.
DevOps is about increasing efficiency, but nothing is more inefficient than building the same application twice. However, this is a routine occurrence with enterprise applications that need both a rich desktop web interface and strong mobile support. With recent technological advances from Isomorphic Software and others, rich desktop and tuned mobile experiences can now be created with a single codebase – without compromising functionality, performance or usability. In his session at DevOps Su...
As organizations realize the scope of the Internet of Things, gaining key insights from Big Data, through the use of advanced analytics, becomes crucial. The cloud. Like a comic book superhero, there seems to be no problem it can’t fix or cost it can’t slash. Yet making the transition is not always easy and production environments are still largely on premise. Taking some practical and sensible steps to reduce risk can also help provide a basis for a successful cloud transition. A plethora of surveys from the likes of IDG and Gartner show that more than 70 percent of enterprises have deployed at least one or more cloud application or workload. Y...
