Fans around the world will pack stadiums and arenas to see the star play some of the catchiest songs in the music business.  Some of Katy Perry's most popular songs include:  UnconditionallyHot N Cold, California Gurls, If We Ever Meet Again, Teenage Dream, Firework, Part of Me, Roar andI Kissed a Girl. It was the latter that instantly made the 29-year-old native of Santa Barbara, CA a star. The song reached the top of charts around the world including 4x certified platinum in the United States according to the Recording Industry Association of America.

Katy Perry's supporting acts for the North American Leg of her tour include:  Capital Cities, Tegan and Sara and Kasey Musgraves dependent upon the city and venue.  Capital Cities will be with Katy to kick off her tour and then Kasey Musgraves will be her warm up act for the middle of the tour and Tegan and Sara will be the supporting act for the last third of the tour.  Going out on the tour for the European portion of the tour is Swedish duo, Icona Pop. The duo saw their popularity rapidly grow this year with their club hit, I Love it. The duo has also been in the news lately with the announcement that they will be joining Miley Cyrus on her "Bangerz" tour next year. Perry isn't only popular with the fans as she has had several stars collaborate with her for some of her biggest songs. Timbaland joined Perry on If We Ever Meet Again, Kanye West joined her on E.T. and Snoop Dogg was on her California Gurls track. With a star-studded group of collaborators, one never knows who might join Perry on stage.

Perry has been nominated for numerous awards in her career including nine Grammy Award nominations. In 2012, Perry was named the 2012 Woman of the Year and has turned into a mainstream star. She is a celebrity endorser for numerous products, did a voice in The Smurfs, took part in an autobiographical 3D film and was married to actor/comedian Russell Brand.

The California native is one of the highest selling digital-selling artists in the world trailing only Rihanna and Lady Gaga and holds the distinction of being the artist with the longest tenure in the top 10 of the Hot 100 list. Throughout her brief career, Perry has already sold more than 11 million albums and more than 80 million singles.

The "Prismatic World Tour" will be her first since the California Dreams Tour in 2011 that grossed close to $49 million. It was one of the highest grossing tours of the year and the Prism tour should see itself high on that list for 2014.

The Internet of Things (IoT), in all its myriad manifestations, has great potential. Much of that potential comes from the evolving data management and analytic (DMA) technologies and processes that allow us to gain insight from all of the IoT data that can be generated and gathered. This potential may never be met as those data sets are tied to specific industry verticals and single markets, with no clear way to use IoT data and sensor analytics to fulfill the hype being given the IoT today.

More and more brands have jumped on the IoT bandwagon. We have an excess of wearables – activity trackers, smartwatches, smart glasses and sneakers, and more that track seemingly endless datapoints. However, most consumers have no idea what “IoT” means. Creating more wearables that track data shouldn't be the aim of brands; delivering meaningful, tangible relevance to their users should be. Successful transition from traditional IT to cloud computing requires three key ingredients: an IT architecture that allows companies to extend their internal best practices to the cloud, a cost point that allows economies of scale, and automated processes that manage risk exposure and maintain regulatory compliance with industry regulations (FFIEC, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, FISMA).
