iSALUS Healthcare's OfficeEMR(TM) Receives ONC-ACB Certification by Drummond Group

Industry Leading, Cloud-Based Medical Software Provides Certified Solution for Stage II Meaningful Use

INDIANAPOLIS, IN--(Marketwired - January 20, 2014) - iSALUS Healthcare, a privately held Electronic Health Records (EHR), Practice Management, and Medical Billing service provider, today announced that OfficeEMR has been tested and certified for Stage II meaningful use under the Drummond Group's Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) program. The EHR software is compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

"Passing Drummond Group's ONC-ACB EHR 2014 Edition Certification is a major victory for iSALUS, and more importantly a testament to the dedication and commitment of our hard working employees," said Michael Hall, founder and CEO of iSALUS Healthcare. "The 2014 certification corresponds with Stage II meaningful use measures, and delivers valuable, time-saving features to our clinicians. The new clinical reconciliation feature allows providers to automatically post a patient's previous medications, allergies, and problems into their chart with a single mouse click, while the decision support rules allow providers to build clinical alerts on almost infinite criterion triggering alerts to display in a patient's chart. These features will fundamentally change healthcare by increasing the quality and speed of care delivery. It's a very exciting time to be a part of healthcare reform."

OfficeEMR, which met the requirements for Complete EHR Ambulatory, offers a completely integrated cloud-based EHR and Practice Management solution in a single database with one login. This environment prevents lost claim data which is a common problem due to most vendors requiring clients to utilize separate Billing and EHR systems. OfficeEMR is unique in that it contains easy-to-read, colorful charts and graphs as a refreshing alternative to the sluggish, text-heavy EHRs saturating the market today. iSALUS knows clinicians don't have time to read through hundreds of lines of chart notes. That's why OfficeEMR replaces text with pictures, graphs, and charts whenever possible -- a true differentiating factor which allows physicians to accelerate the charting process while experiencing the joy associated with using a well-designed program.

This Complete EHR is 2014 Edition compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.

iSALUS Healthcare's OfficeEMR 2014 program was certified on January 10, 2014. This criteria certified includes 170.314(a)(1‐15); 170.314(b)(1‐5, 7) 170.314(c)(1‐3); 170.314(d)(1‐8); 170.314(e)(1‐3); 170.314(f)(1‐3); and 170.314(g)(2‐4). OfficeEMR 2014's certification ID is 01102014‐2342‐9. The clinical quality measures certified include CMS062v2; CMS068v3; CMS075v2; CMS126v2; CMS127v2; CMS138v2; CMS147v2; CMS154v2; CMS156v2; and CMS165v2. Additional software used includes Surescripts and Medline Plus Connect.

iSALUS Healthcare's certified product, OfficeEMR, is offered in a variety of pricing packages that best suit the specific needs of a practice. The mutually agreed upon pricing typically requires a training and implementation charge as well as a monthly licensing fee. This pricing structure is memorialized in a mutually executed order form, Terms of Service Agreement, and HIPAA Compliance Business Associate Agreement that essentially covers all features, functionality, and services required to meet meaningful use objectives and measures. While iSALUS does not price add-on costs after the signatory order form, some costs may apply for additional features and services as requested by the client with agreed upon pricing parameters covered with a contract addendum.

*A certification that is issued to an integrated bundle of EHR Modules shall be treated the same as a certification issued to a Complete EHR except that it must also indicate each EHR Module that comprises the bundle;
*A certification issued to a Complete EHR or EHR Module based on applicable certification criteria adopted by the ONC at subpart C of this part must be separate and distinct from any other certification(s) based on other criteria or requirements.

The IoT market is on track to hit $7.1 trillion in 2020. The reality is that only a handful of companies are ready for this massive demand. There are a lot of barriers, paint points, traps, and hidden roadblocks. How can we deal with these issues and challenges? The paradigm has changed. Old-style ad-hoc trial-and-error ways will certainly lead you to the dead end. What is mandatory is an overarching and adaptive approach to effectively handle the rapid changes and exponential growth.
Developing software for the Internet of Things (IoT) comes with its own set of challenges. Security, privacy, and unified standards are a few key issues. In addition, each IoT product is comprised of at least three separate application components: the software embedded in the device, the backend big-data service, and the mobile application for the end user's controls. Each component is developed by a different team, using different technologies and practices, and deployed to a different stack/...

Mobile messaging has been a popular communication channel for more than 20 years. Finnish engineer Matti Makkonen invented the idea for SMS (Short Message Service) in 1984, making his vision a reality on December 3, 1992 by sending the first message ("Happy Christmas") from a PC to a cell phone. Since then, the technology has evolved immensely, from both a technology standpoint, and in our everyday uses for it. Originally used for person-to-person (P2P) communication, i.e., Sally sends a text...

Too often with compelling new technologies market participants become overly enamored with that attractiveness of the technology and neglect underlying business drivers. This tendency, what some call the “newest shiny object syndrome,” is understandable given that virtually all of us are heavily engaged in technology. But it is also mistaken. Without concrete business cases driving its deployment, IoT, like many other technologies before it, will fade into obscurity.
The web app is agile. The REST API is agile. The testing and planning are agile. But alas, data infrastructures certainly are not. Once an application matures, changing the shape or indexing scheme of data often forces at best a top down planning exercise and at worst includes schema changes that force downtime. The time has come for a new approach that fundamentally advances the agility of distributed data infrastructures. Come learn about a new solution to the problems faced by software organ...
