Dr. Feiz Proves to be a Pioneer in the Battle Against Obesity

Obesity continues to reach record levels across the globe, making the work of the first-rate team at Dr. Feiz & Associates more essential than ever.

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- At the offices of Dr. Feiz & Associates, patients can find a surgeon who is dedicated to exhausting every option for weight loss, including sleeve gastrectomy and lap band Los Angeles. For those who qualify for a lap band or sleeve gastrectomy for Valencia or anywhere throughout LA, Dr. Feiz won't rest until his patients have conquered obesity. He's even an expert in the revision weight loss procedure to convert band to sleeve. While the skill and experience of Dr. Feiz has always been impressive, the doctor's work is only expected to become more appreciated as obesity keeps pace as an increasingly devastating issue in the US and around the globe.

A new study from the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) has found that over one-third of all adults across the world is overweight or suffers from obesity. The ODI report looks at how efforts to improve world hunger have been offset by poor dietary choices that are on the rise in newly developing countries. The effect has been an erosion in "traditional hunger", replaced by unhealthy diets consisting of fats, sugars and meats.

One prime factor in the rise of fatty diets and obesity found by researchers is rising incomes and the sedentary, urban lifestyle that often comes with it. This trend is particularly evident in the US, where over one-third (35.7%) of adults are obese, and obesity-related conditions like heart disease and stroke remain leading causes of preventable death. As the trend toward obesity comes to affect more people, it brings into focus the important work of Dr. Feiz and his team.

"There seems to be little will among the public and leaders to take the determined action that is needed to influence future diets, but that may change in the face of the serious health implications," write researchers in their report. While there may be truth to that on a large scale, Dr. Feiz and his team of medical and weight loss professionals are proof that there are certainly many people for whom safe, sustainable weight loss is very much a priority.

DevOps is under attack because developers don’t want to mess with infrastructure. They will happily own their code into production, but want to use platforms instead of raw automation. That’s changing the landscape that we understand as DevOps with both architecture concepts (CloudNative) and process redefinition (SRE). Rob Hirschfeld’s recent work in Kubernetes operations has led to the conclusion that containers and related platforms have changed the way we should be thinking about DevOps and...
The Internet of Things will challenge the status quo of how IT and development organizations operate. Or will it? The next XaaS is CICDaaS. Why? Because CICD saves developers a huge amount of time. CD is an especially great option for projects that require multiple and frequent contributions to be integrated. The only way to get CICD to work in a highly secure environment takes collaboration, patience and persistence. Building CICD in the cloud requires rigorous ar...
Companies are harnessing data in ways we once associated with science fiction. Analysts have access to a plethora of visualization and reporting tools, but considering the vast amount of data businesses collect and limitations of CPUs, end users are forced to design their structures and systems with limitations. Until now. As the cloud toolkit to analyze data has evolved, GPUs have stepped in to massively parallel SQL, visualization and machine learning.

To get the most out of their data, successful companies are not focusing on queries and data lakes, they are actively integrating analytics into their operations with a data-first application development approach. Large industrial manufacturing organizations are adopting the agile principles of cloud software companies. The industrial manufacturing development process has not scaled over time. Now that design CAD teams are geographically distributed, centralizing their work is key. Enterprises are adopting Kubernetes to accelerate the development and the delivery of cloud-native applications. However, sharing a Kubernetes cluster between members of the same team can be challenging. And, sharing clusters across multiple teams is even harder. Kubernetes offers several constructs to help implement segmentation and isolation. However, these primitives can be complex to understand and apply. As a result, it’s becoming common for enterprises to end up with several clusters. Thi...
