Best’s Review Magazine Recognizes Plymouth Rock Assurance’s Agent Quote Marketplace as a Leading Insurance Innovation

Underscoring its commitment to technology innovation, Plymouth Rock Assurance today announced that it has been featured in Best’s Review Magazine for developing and offering one of the most groundbreaking insurance solutions brought to market in 2013. Specifically, Plymouth Rock is being recognized for its Agent Quote Marketplace, a patent-pending application that connects Massachusetts drivers in the market for auto insurance with authorized independent agents who can offer quotes from multiple insurance providers. Plymouth Rock’s unique, creative approach to problem solving is featured in the publication’s January 2014 edition as part of the Innovation Showcase.

Plymouth Rock designed the Agent Quote Marketplace to help connect independent insurance agents with customers who are actively shopping for auto insurance and have expressed interest in receiving quotes from several insurance carriers. For auto insurance shoppers, the Marketplace provides the opportunity to find a single, designated independent agent who can offer actual quotes from multiple insurance providers, not only from Plymouth Rock. The Marketplace combines the power and ease of shopping online with the personal service and familiarity of dealing with a local independent agent.

A panel of insurance industry experts assessed the relative merits of submissions from more than 40 companies based in countries spanning North America, Europe and Asia for the 2014 Showcase.

In reviewing Plymouth Rock’s submission, panelist Jerry Ravi, a partner at EisnerAmper LLP, called the Marketplace “much more innovative than what we have seen,” and said that “Plymouth Rock is moving in the right direction as a leader” in developing proprietary in-house software.

“The Agent Quote Marketplace offers the online purchasing power that many consumers demand while also delivering the personal touch of independent agents,” said Keith Jensen, chief marketing officer at Plymouth Rock. “We’re committed to providing our customers with the expertise of an agent and the flexibility to shop for auto insurance wherever and whenever, which is why we designed the Marketplace to benefit both agents and customers. We’re very pleased to be recognized by Best’s Review as an innovator and forward-thinker in the global insurance industry.”

Mobile, social, Big Data, and cloud have fundamentally changed the way we live. “Anytime, anywhere” access to data and information is no longer a luxury; it’s a requirement, in both our personal and professional lives. For IT organizations, this means pressure has never been greater to deliver meaningful services to the business and customers.
Digital Transformation is the ultimate goal of cloud computing and related initiatives. The phrase is certainly not a precise one, and as subject to hand-waving and distortion as any high-falutin' terminology in the world of information technology. Yet it is an excellent choice of words to describe what enterprise IT—and by extension, organizations in general—should be working to achieve. Digital Transformation means: handling all the data types being found and created in the organizat...
