Healthwise(R) Patient Education EMR Module Receives 2014 ONC HIT Certification

BOISE, ID -- (Marketwired) -- 01/24/14 -- Healthwise announced today that the Healthwise Patient Education EMR Module, Version 10.0, is compliant with the ONC 2014 Edition criteria and was certified as a Modular EHR on December 22, 2013 by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®), an ONC-ACB, in accordance with the applicable hospital and eligible provider and hospital certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The ONC 2014 Edition criteria support both Stage 1 and 2 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

"Healthwise took a bold step in innovation years ago, developing the technology to seamlessly integrate with EMR platforms," said Leslie Kelly Hall, Healthwise Senior Vice President of Policy. "Our mission to help people make better health decisions has put us at the center of Meaningful Use. For years we have worked to uncover innovative ways to make patient education a part of care and to integrate it more seamlessly in physicians' workflow. To the hundreds of hospitals and thousands of clinicians using our EMR Module, this means that they can do even more with the EMR. Not only can they deliver patient education as part of care, but it's also the easiest way to meet Meaningful Use objectives for patient education."

The ONC HIT Certification Program certifies that Complete EHRs meet all of the 2014 Edition criteria and EHR Modules meet one or more -- but not all -- of the criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) for either eligible provider or hospital technology.

"CCHIT congratulates companies successfully achieving EHR technology certification," said Alisa Ray, executive director, CCHIT. "These companies are now able to make their products available to providers wishing to adopt health IT to demonstrate meaningful use and earn Stage 1 or Stage 2 incentives."

The Healthwise Patient Education EMR Module 10.0's certification number for hospitals is CC-2014-268300-2. For eligible providers, the Healthwise Patient Education EMR Module 10.0's certification number is CC-2014-268300-1. Both meet the following three certification criteria: patient-specific education resources, automated numerator recording and quality management system. ONC HIT certification conferred by CCHIT does not represent an endorsement of the certified EHR technology by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The additional types of costs that an eligible hospital or eligible provider would pay to implement the Healthwise Patient Education EMR Module in order to attempt to meet meaningful use objectives and measures include license, maintenance, and implementation fees.

About the ONC HIT Certification Program
The ONC HIT Certification Program, provided by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®) as an Office of the National Coordinator - Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB), evaluates EHR technology that has been tested against criteria and standards adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). This certification qualifies EHRs as capable of supporting achievement of meaningful use for the Medicare and Medicaid EHR incentive programs authorized by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). ONC HIT certification conferred by the Certification Commission does not represent an endorsement of the certified EHR technology by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The past few years have brought a sea change in the way applications are architected, developed, and consumed—increasing both the complexity of testing and the business impact of software failures. This is where continuous testing comes in. D
Modern software design has fundamentally changed how we manage applications, causing many to turn to containers as the new virtual machine for resource management.
