Grid2Home Demonstrates Smart Energy Profile 2.0 With Tatung at Distributech 2014

G2H-SE2 Software for Maximizing Energy Efficiency and Demand Response Demonstrated Over Tatung Gateway One

SAN DIEGO, CA and TAIPEI, TAIWAN -- (Marketwired) -- 01/27/14 -- Grid2Home, developer of Smart Energy Profile 2 (SEP2), now published as IEEE2030.5, today announced that they are demonstrating SEP2 on the Tatung Gateway One, based upon STMicroelectronics STreamPlug at Booth 3817 at Distributech during January 28-30, 2014. Grid2Home will demonstrate Smart Energy control securely from a remote cloud-based server to a Home Gateway, several Smart Grid-enabled devices including an electric-vehicle charging station, electric-vehicle emulator, sub-meter, gas meter, thermostat and a customer in-home display.

The G2H-SE2 software, which supports multiple applications, including electric vehicles, appliances, thermostats and load and energy sources, is interoperable across a wide range of devices, and has been ported to multiple hardware platforms and physical layers including Wi-Fi, ZigBee, Bluetooth and PLC and HomePlug AV/GP.

The Tatung Gateway One enables users to setup multi-bearer home networks combining Ethernet, WLAN, HomePlug AV/GP and multimedia devices, greatly enhancing opportunities to improve energy efficiency, security, comfort and convenience throughout the home. Tatung's Meter Bridge and Home-Area Network (HAN) Bridge enable multi-occupancy dwellings to benefit from smart-energy applications, while solving consumption and billing challenges. The M1i and M3 are intelligent devices that provide energy management as well as network connectivity for devices plugged into the AC line. The M1i is optimized for industrial applications, while the M3 is featured for domestic use including charging plug-in electric vehicles. In an earlier announcement, Tatung has partnered with Arkados and enabled the software environments that include the LinuUSP for Gateway One and the modules. Adding G2H-SE2 software opens up a wide array of smart energy applications.
