"James brings to Elevate significant experience managing major international law firms across developed and emerging markets," said Mark Redmayne, Vice President of Business Development. "Elevate continues to grow in Australia, including managed document review, contracts support and many other legal services. James' experience leveraging the world's leading captive global service centre enables us to define the gold standard of service for our clients. To my knowledge, no other provider in this market has invested in a board level leader with James' degree of strategic and operational experience."

Whilst at Baker & McKenzie, Odell was responsible for the delivery of all business services functions to the practice. During that period, Baker & McKenzie was recognised for excellence in South East Asia by Chambers, named Law Firm / Legal Advisor Of The Year by the Financial Times and Mergermarket, and named Australia's International Firm Of the Year by ALB. Prior to Baker & McKenzie, Odell served on Linklaters' central Strategy and Planning team, advising the Firm's global executive committee during a period of post-merger consolidation and rapid profitability growth.

"I'm delighted to join such an experienced team at a time when the legal services market is evolving faster than ever before," said Odell. "For those law firms and general counsel with the vision to do things differently, the opportunities have never been greater. I look forward to partnering closely with Elevate's clients, helping them move ahead of their peers in an increasingly competitive global marketplace."

Liam Brown, Founder and Chairman of Elevate said, "In addition to giving Australian clients access to James' operational experience, this is a key part of our global strategy to expand client service capability. We just launched a new service centre in Phoenix, Arizona, we will soon launch one in the UK, and with James on board we are well positioned to add locations in Manila and elsewhere in Asia Pacific. We are investing where our clients are, and we are committed to the Asia Pacific region."

When cloud breaches occur, whether active compromise or a publicly accessible database, the blame must fall on both service providers and users. In his session at 21st Cloud Expo, Ben Johnson, C...

"The reason Tier 1 companies are coming to us is we're able to narrow the gap where custom applications need to be built. They provide a lot of services, like IBM has Watson, and they provide a lot of hardware but how do you bring it all together?
