Health Companion® Receives 2014 ONC-HIT Certification for Secure Patient Messaging and Related Technologies

New Patient Engagement Technology Spurred by the Federal EHR Incentive Program

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Health Companion, Inc., a San Diego-based company, announced today the company's EHR ambulatory patient portal version 3.5 has received certification by InfoGard, an accredited ONC-ACB certification body.  The certification qualifies healthcare organizations to use Health Companion® cloud technologies to help comply with the Federal EHR Incentive Program.

Health Companion was certified for the following specific requirements:

  • 170.314(e)(3) Secure Messaging
  • 170.314(e)(1) View, Download, and Transmit
  • 170.314(g)(2) Automated numerator recording
  • 170.314(g)(4) Quality Management System

This EHR Module is 2014 Edition compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.  This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.  The Health Companion certification was received on January 28, 2014, and the certification number is IG-3143-13-0049.
