Trumba Online Calendars Help Media Stations Successfully Promote Events and Increase Attendance

CKUA's Trumba-powered calendar has increased traffic to their calendar web pages by over 30%. "Since we implemented Trumba, we are seeing steady growth in visits to our calendar page from about 6,000 a month before to more than 8,000 page visits per month" says Karen Howell, CKUA Web Editor. The visibility and success of their Trumba calendar has helped CKUA increase attendance at events. "We did a Facebook poll asking our listeners to let us know if they attended a concert or event only because they saw it in our online events calendar and we received an overwhelming response," adds Howell. CKUA also enjoys increased revenue from their Trumba calendar. "Our Trumba calendar has become a source of revenue for us since we created a banner ad on that page," explains Howell. "When potential sponsors learn how many page visits our calendar page receives they are eager to advertise with us."

With transmitters throughout Alberta Canada, CKUA Radio engages communities with their online arts and culture calendar. CKUA leverages Trumba's flexible publishing tools to customize categories that site visitors can filter by event type and location, making it easy to find events that match their specific interests.
