Panasonic System Communications Company of North America, a leading provider of integrated security and surveillance solutions, today announced the immediate availability of two new HD and Full HD fixed dome network cameras to its security solutions portfolio. Introduced at the ASIS conference in September, the IP66 rated outdoor weather- and vandal-resistant 1080p model (WV-SFV631L) and 720p model (WV-SFV611L) are the first additions to Panasonic’s new high-performance 6 Series i-PRO camera platform now available through authorized Panasonic resellers.
Engineered for high performance under any lighting conditions, the new HD and Full HD dome network cameras capture and deliver outstanding high definition image quality. Utilizing Panasonic’s new next-generation UniPhier® S2 LSI processors, 6 Series cameras produce high-definition resolution at 60 frames per second, enabling the capture of exceptionally clear images of moving objects and feature the ability to encode up to four simultaneous H.264 streams while maintaining use of bandwidth via the UniPhier’s very efficient Shadow Compression Engine. Panasonic’s Enhanced Super Dynamic and Adaptive Black Stretch (ABS) technologies also provide up to 133dB of dynamic range compared to conventional cameras, delivering outstanding performance in highly dynamic lighting conditions. Furthermore, MNR (Multi-process Noise Reduction) and Super Chroma Compensation (SCC) functions ensure both bright and dark areas are faithfully reproduced with minimum video noise and accurate color reproduction even under low illumination.
“Panasonic is committed to developing state-of-the-art security and video surveillance solutions that deliver unmatched performance and flexibility to our reseller partners and customers,” said Charlie Hare, Panasonic’s National Category Manager, Security and Mobile Video Solutions. “And with the new 6 Series cameras, Panasonic again raises the bar for surveillance video quality, with their ability to produce exceptional high definition images, even in the most dynamic and challenging low light conditions.”
All cameras in the new 6 Series line-up offer exceptional sensitivity delivering detailed video images in low light at less than 0.01lx illumination. For zero lux situations, all 6 Series cameras include advanced IR illumination capability providing clear images of human faces and clothing without the overexposure common in competitors’ IR models. A newly developed precision dome cover maintains distortion free images through a wide range of tilt angles further preserving picture quality at the point of capture.
The 6 models feature Dual SDXC memory card slots that support high-capacity H.264/JPEG edge-recording with flexible record modes including alarm-recording and backup-recording upon network failure. Series 6 models are also capable of combining space on two cards for longer recordings or creating mirror copies for redundancy purposes. A new mechanical design, Auto Back Focus and Motorized Zoom (2.8-10mm) lenses allow for easy installation and a newly developed lens with aperture control function ensures that both models will achieve the best focus in any environment.
Beyond loss prevention and risk management, video surveillance systems are increasingly being deployed by customers in markets such as healthcare, retail, hospitality, and education for business optimization purposes such as facilities and process monitoring, supply chain optimization and targeted marketing. Designed with these applications in mind, Panasonic’s new 6 Series i-PRO dome network cameras are ideal for customers seeking advanced IP networked video surveillance devices that deliver cutting-edge capabilities to enhance their existing security solutions.
Pricing and Availability
The WV-SFV611L and WV-SFV631L are now available through authorized Panasonic resellers at an MSRP of $1,722.00 and $2,127.00 respectively. Additional 6 Series cameras and optional accessories are slated for introduction throughout 2014.

All clouds are not equal. To succeed in a DevOps context, organizations should plan to develop/deploy apps across a choice of on-premise and public clouds simultaneously depending on the business needs. This is where the concept of the Lean Cloud comes in - resting on the idea that you often need to relocate your app modules over their life cycles for both innovation and operational efficiency in the cloud. In his session at @DevOpsSummit at19th Cloud Expo, Valentin (Val) Bercovici, CTO of So...
